To be frank, I'm not really sure, but it does look good.

i actually prefer it to match the body color. On the Enzo it doesnt bother me as much as the cluster is thinner so the black part is not that visible. Id love to see a photoshop of an Enzo with the cluster painted though.

I really don't think the F40, Enzo or LaF would look good with the headlight cluster in body color, or Ferrari SpA would have done it.

The F50, perhaps because of its less angular styling carries it off, but I still think the blacked-out headlight clusters give a certain focused and aggressive front-end styling that really works.

    I agree with you, Joe. Still, I wouldn't change it. I'm a purist, so I wouldn't touch a thing.

Hey all, how does an Asian Spec F40/F50 differ from a US spec vehicle? How much would be spent in converting it to meet DOT / EPA regulations? Thinking of buying one from abroad.

Not sure of the differences in spec, but since the F40 would be over 25 years old I don't think it'd be much trouble at all. The F50 may be a different story.

What's with the massive front fender gap many F50s usually show? Did it have some sort of lifter? I see to many pictures with a huge gap.

Yes - nose lift, and it's not quick to move so you'll find a lot of owners leave them parked that way rather than lower it when stopped just to raise it again when they leave.

True but leaving the nose lifted when parked for long periods can cause the system to malfunction which isn't easy to reset.

As a rule, once you stop, you ought to lower the car before you switch the engine off.

Thanks. I guess we mostly agree that even with the lifter disengaged the fender gap is too noticeable. The car with black wheels posted recently looks better, possibly suspension modded?

That one does appear to be lower than stock. That photo comes from the supercar dealer Bingo Sports in Japan where the policy of the land is pretty much "modify everything" so it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Never really noticed. Unless someone messes with the car and adds a bunch of aftermarket crap, I haven't seen one that I didn't love yet.

Would 55,000 miles be of any consideration?
