Hi Christian, did you note down the chassis number of this one? Regards, Robert The Ferrari 308 GTB Register

Does anyone monitoring this board know for sure when Ferrari started using yellow zinc (cadmium) plating on their hardware and steel components? I am interested in documenting many of the metal finishes.
s/n 19843 - reg plate is 'OTS719R'. The plate was changed to '308WHT' in mid 1984. Colour changed to yellow in 2006. It was exported in April 2013. -Ed
The car is dismantled and fastened to a dolly. All parts are labeled, photographed, and carefully stored. The interior is crated and leaving for Italy soon. I have a Mondial to finish then will begin the engine tear down. Aside from some corrosion around the battery it looks to be a straight forward project. We plan to share photos here unless instructed to do so in a different thread. Anyone catch the Vetro results from RM Duemila Ruote auction? I believe 19267 brought 162,400 Euro. I didn't see the result for 18965. 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB 'Vetroresina' | Duemila Ruote 2016 | RM Sotheby's 1975 Ferrari 308 GTB 'Vetroresina' | Duemila Ruote 2016 | RM Sotheby's
1st vetroresina at 200,6k€ including commission and 22% Italian tax on the commission (which your 162,400 didn't included for the 2nd vetroresina).
that's former Toni Auto car, that he sold at 230 K two months ago: I don't know if he sold to a dealer or to the actual owner. Nut and bolt restored aside my drysump. The interiors are the same as my drysump and done at the same shop too. ciao
Hammer price for 18965 175000. Lovely car in my humble opinion Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
if hammered for 175000 euro, means the buyer paid it 200620 euro (12% commission + 22 % IVA on commissions). Still strong prices ciao
I've been using it a fair bit lately.....the weather has been perfect. It's running like a clock. Took this lovely photo this morning. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very! Equates to almost US$300000/280k I imagine sold near the ask and surely a record for a Vetroresina with no dry sump. Image Unavailable, Please Login
When I Purchased my car there were a few items missing/ not operative which I have gradually now narrowed down and rectified.. There are two which I'm having a struggle with however..a third is probably less of an issue 1. How is the spare fixed in place? I notice in the early Autocar test there's a pic which shows a leather belt I think.. where does this attach? 2. My car didn't come with a washer bag which I know have and I would love to see a detailed shot of how's it mounted. Any help appreciated. 3. What do the door window frames attach to? I'm presuming there are some captive nuts bonded in the fibreglass somewhere? Mine are a tad ratty and if anyone has replaced theirs I'd be very appreciative of what's involved in inserting new frames? Best regards, John
John, 1. The early Australian 308 GTBs were not supplied with the breeching staple to secure the spare with a leather strap unlike the markets where you were supplied a space saver as standard. Australian cars always received the full size spare and I suppose Ferrari assumed they'd save a few cents by deleting it. 2. Washer bag is mounted a few different ways on glass cars depending upon the shape of the spare wheel well, there's some images in this thread somewhere, let me know if the pics have gone AWOL. 3. Window frames are screwed to the steel frame internal with the door that runs from the hinges down along the base of the door skin. (Or rather, what's left of the steel frame, that area is notorious for corrosion). CJ
As mentioned, that's taken at the wheels, not at the crank. And certainly not S.A.E (At the risk of offending the Americans lol). Well, at 255 H.P. that's what the factory claimed. However for homologation purposes, the official figure is 229 CV (Cheval Vapeur) so to convert C.V. to H.P. we multiply 229 by 1.0143 giving an official H.P. figure of 232.27. I'm always very surprised and just how little loss there is through the 308 drivetrain. I assume it's the result of not having to transmit the power through a 90 degree bend.
