Throwing it back to the '90s for today. "My Favourite Game" by The Cardigans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9WgtlgGAgs
Awesome song. One of my favorite songs from the 60s. Fun facts... Written by the immortal folk singer, Pete Seeger. Derived from some Bible verses, Book of Ecclesiastes. The Byrds version is perhaps the most well known. My favorite is by Judy Collins. https://youtu.be/5PhZ0z8pBFw T
Achilles ' Last Stand-amazing guitar work and drumming Lazy-Deep Purple. Love this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnIgXtE4K5U Child in time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OorZcOzNcgE Deep Purple hugely under-rated group.
https://open.spotify.com/user/1211859396/playlist/5gIDj5AJifBugLxFT4Ja3e My Motorhead music mix is now 165 songs, over 10 hours. Carefully curated for listening while in the garage... Until last week it was somehow missing Roy Orbison's 'I Drove all Night' so in penance I've added the Cyndi Lauper version as well.
Don't beat yourself up. Anyone coulda made that mistake. [emoji3] Here's something a tad more banging to replace Cyndi with. https://youtu.be/H0kJLW2EwMg T
This is something diff. A coworker, who's from Pakistan, turned me on to it. If you liked eastern influences on 60s music, you might like this. Zeb & Haniya. From what I can glean online, influenced by an Omar Khayyam poem. The gent on the rubab (guitar/sitar thingie) is fab. https://youtu.be/7wIRNkE0uXY This one's an interesting collabo of eastern and western influences. Gets almost jazzy at the end. https://youtu.be/2p9y_OsVV5s Another. https://youtu.be/GuY-2sHJYhg T
Techno. And since most people, especially you older folks, have no idea what real Techno is... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5PSxe6iCnI[/ame]
'bout time. Thought I was the only one here who listens to techno, or trance, or House (us old guys).
Crazy kids and your techno music! [emoji6]Something for the older set. https://youtu.be/gpc4Be7oTZo T
I only listen to House, Techno, or Tech House for the most part now. Been into the scene since '93. Other EDM genres I'll dabble with here and there, but if I want to dance, it's gotta be some proper Techno/House. I can't deal with any of that Top 40 stuff or just about anything else that is played on commercial radio.
I've been listening to House and Techno since the mid 80's after arriving in Holland for a three year stint, and from thereafter. Followed New Wave, Ska, and Rockability back then as well. While I'm not very good with names (people and tracks), I know what I like. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFuujExs03A[/ame] And like you said, most mainstream music isn't worth listening to. However, 2016 did have some gems (some of my previous posts here).
Stuck on the band Disturbed right now. A bit heavy for most, but many of the messages are quite positive. I think the lead singer is a Mormon or something.
