hi everybody I'm new here, taking care of 1976 Vetroresina *19635* in Bangkok Thailand the car has an ugly Koenig front spoiler and we try to find an original in any condition or a good repro inquired everywhere, no luck any Ideas? or should I have placed a classified ad? my apologies then Robert
The fiberglass without aeration spoiler for the early car including vetroresina is found from time to time even if there is some work to be done on it. Is 19635 a RHD car ? Can you told us more about it ?
Well, there is a small-lip glassfiber 308 spoiler available for $550 U.S. I'm not sure how a period correct one for a vetro should look...best of luck finding one from a vetro...
Sirholly is looking for one. Yes, there is no vent holes on early car, especially vetroresina. It appeared on US market, all versions and GTS Euro only around October 77.
my early steel (euro) one does not have these vent holes indeed. Never noticed it. I learned something new today
BTW st@ven, and sorry, gentlemen to be off topic, does your early steel car has a bleed screw on the top of the thermostat casting housing ? Your car is meanwhile of the appearance of this change. Thanks for your help !
I have a '77 steel dry sump so I have been trying to figure out the vent hole question and I think, again, no expert here, that the vent holes were in all of the steel small lip spoilers. What's interesting is when did they start putting them in the fiberglass small lip spoilers? And, is there a pretty clear point when they went from fiberglass to steel? Tough to say with Ferrari. I have a pristine steel small lip spoiler but may change to fiberglass based on change over dates. My car is August, 1977.
The steel spoiler is much more "young", it appeared during the injection car between 81/82. It was a replacement part and highly exposed to small shocks so it may have been changed during car's life. The vent hole appeared on the GTS (all Euro and US cars have it). From that period, it is mounted on all US cars (GTB/S). I don't know and/or understand if they develop the system first for US car or for the GTS (wet sump) cooling needed. Sorry to be off topic. Hannibal308, I don't know your car but even if it is a US or Euro GTB, it "should" have been deliver with a no vent fiber spoiler.
I switched out the front spoiler on my 79 308 GTB a few years ago. Here is, not the best, picture that shows the vent holes in both spoilers. The deep spoiler was purchased out of Europe and was an OEM part. Image Unavailable, Please Login
August '77 Euro Dry Sump GTB so sounds like I may need to find a finerglass small lip spoiler with no holes too...dang!
I always tried to find an assembly number on this part but nothing for now, even if I think the part was at least as much paired as the body openers.
