    I would never qualify for one. I have too many miscellaneous modifications. Small improvements over stock here and there as needed over the years.

    Wow, 14 months!! Did you have to modify anything to comply or was it just waiting for the factory to send folder off?

    Some of my original photos sent off turned out to be unclear so the factory asked them to be rephotographed, but that was very early on in the process.

    I was told the factory is trying to minimise the wait time on more mainstream cars like ours... yet to see it.

    I think it was just waiting time. No modifications were needed, however I am not sure if follow up photos were requested.

    As an aside, I think that it must have taken a bit of time for the dealer to take the photos as they have to remove wheels, under trays, fender liners, etc. to get access to photograph the necessary components.

    Now that's an interesting question:
    If your car does not satisfy/warrant the cert, is it goodbye to the money? Or would the dealer tell you up front if your car qualifies?

    I think in this case, the dealer offers you to make changes to the car passes the certification
    And bye bye ( more ) money !

    Honestly, few if any dealer employees really have any idea what a 308 is supposed to look like or have. The newest one is 31 years old now and I haven't been impressed with their knowledge level on average with these cars or even the factory after listening to a few stories here. The factory knows but I think they are just, I guess, lazy is a good word.

    Our group around here is the gold standard to evaluate the originality of one of these things at this point. We need to be screening them, not some 40 year old dealer or shop tech. I've been around 308's and photographing them since before the QV. How could someone who was 2 then have a better understanding?

    Ideally I would have loved to have shipped my 328 back to the factory for the Classiche department to look over it, take photos and and pass on any knowledge they could but living here in Oz it's just not economically feasible. I really envy you guys in the UK and parts of Europe that could drive their car there. So I am relying on my local dealer to take the correct photos and liaise with Classiche in regards to an accurate authentication of my car. Two platinum awards and a few best in shows should hopefully make the job a bit easier for them.

    Took about 6-7 Months just to get color verification , engine number etc. Thing is I already knew all this info back when Ferrari USA would tell you verbally. I just wanted the Classiche paper since the car is currently silver instead of Avorio {Rare color}. Was told by the dealer it was $360 Bux. 7 Months later it was $600!!!! Price Subject to change without notice. Service showed me the email. Unreal

    Still waiting for mine to came through, 9 months and counting now. Guess I have a few more months to wait if some of you guys experiences are to go by.

    Just to complete the thread, after an 11 month wait my Classiche folder arrived at my local dealership for collection. I will try and post a few photos during my break over the holidays.
    Lovely book with all the photos of my cars relevant areas taken. Quality of some of the external photo's where a little less then what I was expecting but all the harder to view engine, chassis, suspension components where crystal clear.
    Certificate signed by Mr Ferrari.
    Overall a very professional presentation and nice companion piece to the car along with all my other documents (original sales contract, full service records, owners manuals, etc).

    And Tommy, just what is the value of diamonds outside of industrial use? Just look like broken glass.
    Different things have different value to different people.

    But 11 month !!! The factory is lucky to have customers like you !
    I asked two dealers for information concerning Classiche. I still have'nt received any clear answer !
    So my cars will never have this certification .....

    I never thought patience was one of my virtues but going through the Classiche program it teaches you to acquire it. :)

    Average wait is 6-7 months (here). From 3 to 15 months is my experience.

    It's a nice book to have whatever car you have.

    It's more useful and with a higher value after a big restore, but I have it for all my cars, restored or not

    Just one question, for the Classische Certification, they need to send the miles that the car have at the time? Does the miles appear on the Certificate?

    No kilometres recorded on the documents. The dealership may have taken a reading and submitted it to Ferrari for their records but not mentioned in Classiche.

    My 308's Classiche certification was completed in October 2006. I believe I was the first 308 to complete the program and one of the first 5 Ferraris in the US to complete the program.

    The program took about 6 months to complete because some of Algar's photographs were rejected. During the process my 308 was transported to a show in Orlando and the next set of photographs were taken by Classic Coach Repair in New Jersey. Some of those photographs were also rejected and the third set of photographs were taken by Ferrari of Orlando.

    Ferrari S.p.A. challenged that the California Emission System on my 308 was not Factory original and when I produced the original Window Sticker the Factory relented.

    S.p.A. never found my build sheets.

    I have been invited and participated in many events available only to Classiche Certified cars.

    I decided to participate in the certification program because the Classiche brochures stated that there were two ways to determine if your Ferrari was factory original, (1) Concours judging and (2) by the Classiche Program. However, concours judging does not match up component numbers such as engine, transition, etc.

    My 308 was also awarded the FCA 2003 Vintage Preservation Award and a FCA preservation award for 2014 and another Preservation Award at the Cavallino Classic in 2015.

    With the both the Classiche Certification and Preservation Awards, I am satisfied that I am able to document that my 308 has been driven (50,000 miles) and maintained as factory original.
