because of this electronic problem at newer cars the value of the complete 12 cylinder mid engine cars only can go in one direction - UP

have all a merry chrismas and enjoy the boxer engines independently from the value :)

This is very important to the values thread. This is where the future value in the Testarossa will be realized.

Right now, you can put 100k in a Testarossa or a 360 /430 series. Which way do you want to go? If you just want to have fun short term, sure buy the modern car...but don't think it'll be worth anything.
If your thinking is long-term, buy the Testarossa. In the end, you will still be able to keep it on the road.

I illustrated my personal experience with my Diablo VT Roadster and now my Murcielago Roadster. Even now, I've been waiting for over a year to get a second key for the Murcielago. The key is a high security key and even though the vin matches up, they keep sending the wrongly cut blade. The electronic portion matches up fine...but such stupid frustration for just a key?

I believe what has been said about the F1 paddle shift transmissions is what will make the modern Ferrari's expensive to own. So all for the TR. I said it before, I hope they don't get so valuable that I'm afraid to drive it.

Ago, no one cares what the miles are on a Dino or a Daytona anymore. They're very sought after collectibles.
Drive it like you stole it, rev it to red line and make sure your girlie in the passenger seat isn't over 23.

    Have fun!

So much for the nay sayers here!...:D

And Shamile is right...who gives a **** about the mileage on a Dino or a Daytona nowadays?
Just enjoy your car and take good care of it, you'll be rewarded today and tomorrow.

You have to put that car in context @ $155k (plus fees); early flying mirror car, 4,000 mi., rarest color, and serviced. IMO that puts most TR's currently on the market between $50-$120k.

    Yah....
    like a plain jane car...

    If I heard correctly:
    125k(1.05)=131kusd

These cars don't even get a ppi before the purchase!

Yeah but IMO they should be 50k cars so a couple can feel comfortable buying them.

Strong money. Great reference points Vincenzo.

I'm no longer a TR owner, but I've been the fortunate care-taker of several Testarossas over the years, and I miss them all dearly. For years we were always hearing about the endless number of "needy" TR's that could be bought for $35k....and whenever we asked to actually see one of these cars....nothing! Well I was fortunate enough to buy one of these mythical TR's close to that number $35k but it needed a lot of work as you would expect. But now days a TR with serious needs is above $50k. I agree they are worth it, but unfortunately these higher prices now put the TR out of range for "regular guy" enthusiasts like me. To say I kick myself daily for getting rid of my last TR is a gross understatement. I'm glad to finally see the TR get the recognition it deserves...

TRs aren't going to 50 and based on the last 2 auction results are going in exactly the opposite direction. $155k (over $170 before the buyer registers it) for a single flying mirror is spot on. Maybe there are $70k TRs out there but not for long.

Hey Jeff, I always learned so much from your DIY treads over the years.

If you're ever in Florida, you're always welcome to take my 91 Testarossa out for a drive.

Not pushing - just relaying factual information.....

Agenda driven buyers push 'False News'. ;-)

    Market manipulation!

    It's a conspiracy!

lol...I was trying to be optimistic.

I live in Florida and this place is the wild west when it comes to buyer protection.

Google the vin in the ad and see if it's on a legitimate sales website. Also, it should pull up old ads from when and where the current owner purchased it.

Previously (video date unknown to me), Keith Martin says "$50k".

1991 Ferrari Testarossa | What's My Car Worth? | Velocity

While watching What's My Car Worth this morning (video aired 6/16/16) Josh Nasar raved about the Black TR he was driving, which sold at auction for $79K.

EXACTLY what I told you when you wanted to buy it......come back to a Diablo Roadster, all the feel and excitement the Audi-ized Murcielago can't give you.

AND it has a top that makes sense......

I hope you get one soon so you can start praising these cars and knock it off with this fake data.

    Hey DarkHorse,
Super cool job. I have a Minimoog Voyager that I love. Being a kid from the 80's I love its music (synths) and obviously its cars. 😎
