Not sure but want to find out. Haven't taken them off to see what it says on the inside. I've seen them on a few other cars and Ferrari's.. Maybe someone else here may know?

FOUND IT! They're Factory Ferrari Speedline 355 Rims.. Seen them on a few Mondial's before in pics. The car is Euro and not sure if that was a factory upgrade for Euro's or aftermarket. Documentation I have from the last 18 years show it with those rims.

Looks like the model has metric tires!

I would not be surprised if they were metrics! Very balloon-like tires, that don't appear to-scale. While it is a very nice model, I could nit-pick a few things. The biggest one of which is the glaring omission of a "Ferrari" badge on the trunk lid in back. I thought maybe it came unglued. But checked another Mondial model and it TOO did not have one! Ugh...
Sunroof does not open... But that's ok, I don't use the real one either!!
But again, I do like this one overall.

Who are these people that say the Mondial is not a beautiful car? Obviously they haven't seen these two.

Great looking. What makes this an 88 and a half?

Not sure, I am guessing when it was produced. The dealership advertised it this way, they seemed to think it meant something, probably very little difference if any. I have seen the designation on this site before, if anyone one knows please post.

I think with the 328 series, there was a point at which ABS was added. It's been a while (I'd have to search/post in the 3x8 section), but i think that was 88.5 (or 88 1/2).

I think all 88 Mondials had ABS, but I might be wrong.

If the above is right, the Mondial you have may have ABS and the dealer assumed it was similar to the 328 but they are not.

There is no production year call 1988 and a half. I'm guessing the dealer called it 88.5 based on the door tag of month year produced probably in the later months of 88. ABS braking was introduced as an option on 87 Mondials and was standard on all 88 models. Happy New Year !

    I have an 88 :)

    Best,
    Mike

Yeah, I typically hear "88.5" used in relation to 328's to designate cars that don't yet have ABS. This is usually a selling point, as ABS often presents pricey repair issues and can be a pain in the butt to fix, I'm told.

Hi Mike cool to see a post from you. You use to be one of the most active guy in the Mondial section but now very quiet. Too busy with the business I guess.

    Happy new year my friend.

Thank you for the info guys, I would guess you are correct about the misconception that the 328 1/2 year break some how translates to the Mondial. Tie that with the production date perhaps making it 6 months newer than the first run 88 maybe. The dealership was firm about this meaning something but you know how those people operate. :)
