The belts for the Hydraulic pump are Gates #7M650. The belt # for the Alt is11M710. THe Gates belts have a special cross section. THe belts for the A/C are standard belts and I do not have that number, but you should be able to read the number on the existing belt. I have some of the Gates belts as spares if you are interested

Here is an adequate photo for the season I just found in the Norwegian club site, Marius in 0008 -the oldest production car in existence- in Norway complete with wall of snow next to it I got to store and borrow this car in 2012 just after it won greatest distance award at KHAMSIN QUARANTA: Marius and his wife drove 1900kms from Oslo to Beaune...and back via Le Mans Classic a few weeks later. Hello AMLC, Happy new year to you, hope to see your blue macchina this year That is AM120US1024 which had been owned by Maurice Khawam the author of the 5000GT book, he once drove Marcello Gandini in it in the Los Angeles area during a show for which Gandini had come over. Our favorite designer was shocked by how fast the car was, he had forgotten Then it was bought by an enthusiast from Ohio who had it a few years before I organized its sale to a New York City area collector summer 2014. Here are various photos obviously the one with Euro bumpers after conversion is more recent. Few K's have retained their original white color, it works well but the car has to be impeccable. The most well known white car is 270 which lives in Modena and won best restoration at KHAMSIN QUARANTA 5 years ago. Happy new year Marc! The pictures on the Norwegian Maserati Club website is not of my car 008, but most are of René's car US1000, witch I have drive almost as much as my own car. My car is now in bear metal and has the original nose without the grille. It was nice to see that the modification where the grille was mounted on 008, most likely done by Maserati, is not a change of the front section, but modification of the original front panel. There is no rust requiring welding or sanding on my car, but several layers of paint, some with suspicious quality going soft when sanded. Good thing it's all gone and the car will get a layer of acid primer and then epoxy primer before filler and further layers of primer. Don't ever just repaint an old car when you don't know the history of repaint jobs, it will for sure give you trouble at some point. Here is a picture og 008 a few years back, when a snow storm surprised me (and the rest of Oslo) when picking up the car at René's place early winter. No salt on the roads, but driving a Khamsin on summer tires on this conditions was not comfortable. Cheers Marius Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi Marc, Yeas, this is René's video of me driving 008 in a snow storm, the same day as the picture in my former post was taken. There was no snow when we started driving, and during the 45 minutes drive the driveway had 20 cms of snow. I'll post some pictures of the car in a few days. A lot of work has been done, but I'm not going to "restore" the car. I lot of cars has been so called restored to a level that was a lot higher than original standard of the car. Is the car a Maserati if it's a lot better than it was new? Myself think that originality should be taken seriously, and altering the work done by Maserati should not be done if it's not absolutely necessary. 008 will have some new paint and some new leather for the interior, but I replace only the parts needed so the Maserati history still lives in the car. Hello and a belated happy new year to all! In the US somebody is trying to sell his K1096 which was in his ownership for 10 years. It did not sell on ebay auction ending January 8th 2017 for USD 60'100. Apart from ebay it can be found on bringatrailer and craigslist. In Belgium K1246 is coming up for auction at Vavato in Sint Niklaas. And in Italy, more precisely in Civitanova (Marche) there is a well presenting early K with blue sera bodywork and new looking panna interior being posted on facebook and instagram. Could this be the same car as in the italian movie 'Perché si uccide un magistrato' with Palermo plates or the same as on Japanese Record Covers with Roma plates ? Both seem to have a tan interior, but maybe panna was more to the liking of who restored the car? Hello AMLC, Roger, In haste (crazy busy day) most amused to know that only 25 K's remain, Macerata, Marche Italy is a remote region, did not know it was a parallel universe. I do not know that car, my dream was always to find hidden K's in southern Italy that is the second one lately, will tell you about the other, 322, when I have a minute. One other thing: 334 is in the Artcurial Retromobile auction, the car's catalog description has just come out: I am not involved at all. The car is very much undervalued in the estimation. My friend Philippe met the Belgian couple who owned the car for years in the south of France, real eccentric characters, he said they had a panther, I wonder if they drove around with it in the trunk, staring through the vertical rear window at other drivers, scaring them half to death? Hi Jack, Frankly I haven't paid much attention to wheel choice (except when people put a wooden wheel or other non correct one) but as long as it is model correct I would not see a problem with it, just like some early cars have nose vents and some relatively late cars don't have them it can be due to what was on the shelf on the assembly day and later to owner preference. Here is a photo of 334 some of you have seen repeatedly but I was told today to look under the tree: I had never noticed anything except the unique huge sticker trident (which the car no longer has) but lo and behold there it is under said tree: the family "Kitty"! One thing that symbolizes how Khamsins have risen from deep obscurity to their deserved limelight is the fact that I saw this photo for the first time at Retromobile 10 years ago...on the lousy wall of ads they used to have where people would pin scrawny hand written notes selling popular classics, tools, what have you. Hello Roger, no problem! WelL I think almost all Euro (LHD) cars have this small-boss (and good looking) steering wheel, even #504 has it, but also many others including other high numbers like #358, #382, #392, #406.
Thanks Marc and AMLC. Funny then that there seemingly is a difference between LHD and RHD cars in that respect. Perhaps due to legislation in the UK? Something like UK delivered Daytona Spyders had a boot around the shifter instead of the exposed gate. Btw, Marc, as much as I am a sucker for originality, I'd happilly replca my wheel with a nice wooden Nardi. Best, Jack.

Hi Bal, Just had a quick browse at their site: NARDI STEERING WHEELS There are many options; I didn't measure the diameter of the original wheel, but you can have wood-rimmed from 330mm onwards, black or polished spokes in different styles, exposed or hidden fasteners to the boss. Of course they will supply a boss too. I would be convinced with ease, but I'm not there yet: Let me first see that I get mine on the road properly, am re-fitting the re-upholstered dash top today.
