Make sure radio is on by pressing and holding "Main" Once on, press and hold "Menu" until you see the "setup" menu If the "setup menu" does not show, press the button again and hold. First item in the list should be "audio controls" Select "audio controls" and the first item is "treble" followed by "midrange", "bass", etc.
I don't own a stereo. I don't own a TV. I want peace and quiet in my car and have never once used the radio/CD.
Hi Spiders - how can you possibly have "peace and quiet" in a Ferrari (let alone a Spider)? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
And just an FYI to ls2imprs, there have been several threads over the years with owners trying to source user manuals for the Infotainment system. The consensus was that they don't exists and that the engineer in the basement of Ferrari's design Team's quarters (Guiseppe or Giovanni) would be horrified if anyone would prefer to listen to music rather than to the music he made when he designed the 458's exhaust system. (Spiders is, amongst many many other owners, including me one of his fans.) In any event, even though I had read these threads, I contacted Hartman/JBL directly a few weeks ago to ask if it could provide a user manual. I was very helpfully replied to by one of the engineers who told me that when producing a system to be provided as OE by a car manufacturer, it is entirely up to the car manufacturer itself to produce a user manual. Thus, no manual exists! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hi Michael - I know it does seem odd, but I get a sense of peace when I'm in the car. The sounds of the car are fine and don't annoy me. The radio would really annoy me. My name is spider but my 458 is an Italia. I leave the windows down most of the time. It's a fairly quiet car.
A pleasure talking to you, Michael. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. Keep enjoying your JBL system in your Ferrari in good health! Kind regards, Nuno.
It was rubbish in the 458, did not spec it on the 488 as I was too embarrassed to crank it right up and critique it with the salesman by my side!! Once bitten.
I stand by my original point: not worth it and certainly not rubbish. I'm actually puzzled by those comments. I'm mostly puzzled at you guys' sound standards to: 1) Consider Ferrari's premium sound system (a costly extra from a very well known multinational brand, leader in its field, on a very expensive car like a modern Ferrari) rubbish. 2) Technical shortcomings of the system that make it so bad. 3) Other cars in the same market segment that have so much better sound systems. Kind regards, Nuno.
Im not impressed with my hifi in 488....i would hate to hear what std sounds like Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
458 JBL is just "OK", it's not a patch on the Bose in my panamera. Iv not heard the standard 458 speakers but the JBL's do the job and are loud enough to drown out the engine and road noise if you require. I listen to a lot of music and have high end home hifi set ups so if your like me then you will agree that the sound doesnt seem balanced (seems front heavy) so Iv set the fader to the back by 2, the treble also isn't crisp and some low end frequency are a bit boomey. I had an R8 im the past with the standard set up and that was garbage so if the standard 458 one is similar then it's deffinitly worth the money if you listen to music often.
