Put a generic one on from a jobber because a sock is a sock. They sell them for injected late model cars that are universal.
No not that I can recall. Go and have them show you some and you can pick what will slip over the tube.
So no luck at the local Pep Boys, Napa, etc. Any help anyone can give us in finding these would be greatly appreciated!
I used Carter in tank fuel pump strainers (socks) on my BBi. If I remember correctly, they were their STS series but had to be modified to fit by cutting off the metal grommet on the sock. slip the sock over the fuel tank outlet tube. Clamp in place using low profile SS clamps similar to what is used on CV axle boots. This was after the outlet tubes were cleaned up an re-cad plated. The filters I fitted have been in service now for a number of years trouble free. I was not able to find anything that didn't require some engineering to fit. As Newman suggests, and how I sourced the Carter filters was to visit a jobber such as NAPA. Ask to see what in tank fuel socks they carry. Take the fuel tank outlet tube with you. Dave
Looks like a fuel sock for a 1978 CJ5 Jeep is a near perfect match. Needs very little modification. Thanks for everyone's help.
