Hey there Forum. I am pretty new here, a Maserati owner looking in to Ferrari ownership. I am all over the place with years and models, but a 348 GTS (yes, GTS) has come up, 2 owners from new 30K miles all original.

I have seen most 348 ts prices seem to be selling from 40K to 60K US$ in the states, or about 50 to 60K Brit pounds.

What premium, if any, would a GTS hold?

    Thanks in advance

    Depends... on everything. ;)

Condition, location, color and how bad you want it.

By the way, they made less than 300 of the GTS to begin with, and mostly for the European market.

So, much more info is needed, including your location.

Otherwise, I'd say from $30k to $200k (globally).

    Thanks for the reply Wade.

The car was originally sold to a Japanese collector who owned it until 2 years ago, at which point it was brought here to South America (trying not to be too specific here as google will pick up on the car and spoil my negotiation!).

It is red, with a light brown interior. The body has original paint and looks near perfect. The front spoiler has been re-painted, well. The car has 30K miles. There are a few nice carbon trim pieces inside that seem to be original. The car drives with no rattles or squeaks and feels new.

What would such a car be worth, lets say in the USA?

    Thanks again!

    I'm the owner of a 348 GTB of 1994. In Europe all GTB/GTS prices are about 80k € - 130k €.
The only thing I can say it's... Buy it!

Good thinking :) we've seen many cars sell where someone is taking it slow and researching a car so they come to ask for information or opinions on a certain car. Then someone goes and slaps cash on the counter and drives away in the car you wanted.

I woul stink they would price similar to the 348SS that was availible in the US at that time. Maybe close to $100k US?

I'd think that a top quality GTS imported to the States would easily bring over $100k if it were marketed correctly. I'd think $80-$130k would be the price range in the US, depending on the condition and advertising. They are very rare cars.

The earliest GTS/GTB wouldn't be eligible for import into the US until at least 2018--and it goes by production date, not "model year", so if you have a 93 GTS and the production date was September 1993, then it wouldn't be eligible until September 2018.

    azapa,

The 348GTS did not come from the factory with interior carbon trim pieces. They must be aftermarket. Japanese cars are usually modified. My estimate would be around $100K. Watch the auction price of the 348TS serie speciale coming in up in Scottsdale in the next week or so.

thanks for the comments guys. Still on the fence. I looked over the car very closely and it really gleams, not original paint for sure, but a very good job. The car drives nicely, no pulling under braking or non-cambered roads. The gear change felt very "baulky" with second being hard, for sure me not being used to a gated manual did not help.

The engine looked clean and dry on the top end, but very damp and oily bellow. At least it was not pressure washed before my seeing it to hide things.

The performance and even sound was a little disappointing, it certainly feels like a 1994 car. My 2013 maserati GT MC Stradale has about 50% more performance, just a seat of the pants guess. The exhaust on the 348 has a Tubi, but despite that, did not sound that great for an Italian V8 IMHO.

I am sure the 348 will hold value well, but I had expected the driving experience to be better than it really was. I am sure I would learn to love it.

The comments you have all made above are really great and much appreciated.

Yeah, no comparisons between 1994 and 2013 cars.
