I'm ecstatic to say that I've finally tracked down & purchased one of my personal dream cars, an original Acura Integra Type R.

For me, it had to be the classic Championship White inspired by the Honda F1 program and synonymous with Type R's. 1997 & 1998 were the only years in which this color was produced for the USA (my car is 1998 #0324). The Integra Type R is also the only Type R model ever officially brought to the USA, period.

It's anybody's guess as to how many remain in unmodified, unmolested condition. I put about 60 miles on the car yesterday, and it drives better than I could have imagined. What a car!

    Nice find! Congrats.

I saw an Integra Type-R still left on the lot back in 2001. Yellow. I don't know why, I just remember thinking they were going to be classics.

Fantastic! Miss my Supersonic Blue GSR...still would love to have a yellow Type-R. One just sold on BAT for around 34K...Finding an original one is really hard. Congrats!

Congratulations! Great solid cars! I had a 98 black Type R years back but moved into a CL Type S for the family. Wish I had kept the R but I can say that about many cars I have owned over the years.

    Congrats!

If you don't mind me asking a couple questions.

    Where did you find this?
    How much did you pay?

I've been searching for a 98 all original in mint condition, and have had zero luck.

My uncle has one up here in canada that he was thinking of selling if you're interested. Not sure what he wants for it but I can ask.

That would be greatly appreciated. I'm only interested in all original in mint condition though.

    WoW!!!

brings back so many good memories..unfortunately I didn't have mine for very long only 2 years....to young and to expensive for me ....at the time...lol.

I couldn't believe that I owned one... 1999 finished in (Championship White), because the dealers were selling them for over MSRP and I found one (brand new) at an Acura dealership that just wanted to sell it and I got it for list price!

It definitely was/is a dream car me.

    Marco.

Wonderful, congrats! Did you post on honda-tech back in the day? Please keep it safe and from being stolen, particularly in the area where you are.

I started on S2ki, daily drove my S2000 for a long time. I think the days of Integras being stolen left & right are probably over, but it's tucked away very safe. :)

ITR's will always be a theft target. Be careful where you park when away from home. Your car is a rare stock gem.
