??????..So, Your saying that other later model Ferrari's have no problems with the manifolds?..Because that is not the case.. FWIW I owned a 1997 when the 355 was a new car and again in 2003 and I did not have ANY problems except for needing to bleed the top in the 97 which was covered under warranty..the other 99 in 3 years not a problem at all..my current 99 only a seat pot..If i never owned these cars before I might think or believe the car is a piece of ****, but ownership has taught me better!..

Where did I say that? Do you really feel a strong urge to put words in my mouth or do you do that to everyone? I have yet to see or hear of a 430 that went through 8 sets of manifolds under warranty and 1 motor as a result of the manifold failures.

After recently buying a very nice, fully serviced 348 I started taking it apart as soon as I got it home. :)

Of all the vehicles that I own I have to say that my 348 is the best and most reliable in the lot.
    2011 Escalade cost me over $3000.00, 2015 Cadillac RX4 $2000.00, BMW328i Hard Top Convertible over $2000.00, 1991 Ferrari 348 Less than $1500.00.

    Hidden fuse? Booyah! :D
I think there is a happy medium between "All 355s suck because of headers and valve guides," and "well maintained 355s don't have these problems anymore." It's right where there serious car people live. They take care of them, have more than a shred of "mechanical empathy" as someone put is so well here in the past. They shop carefully and do their homework.

My 348 Spider was worth more wrecked by some clueless, texting 19 old than when I bought it. Sure I did a big major because the lobby queen had only 3600 miles on it over 20 years. It needed a headlight control stalk, oil tank weld, heater core flush, all valves adjusted, new exhaust ecus. But even after that and the wreck, I made money! You divide the big major by 3 years and then add in the appreciation and one years insurance and I made money. That went into my down payment on my 360 Spider.

Since I bought the 360, I have bought and installed 4 wheel spacers with lugs, tires, both exhuast ecus, a front O2 sensor, Challenge Stradale TCU, and a used black steering wheel. Of all of that, I only paid the dealership to install the steering wheel and TCU. The major on my 348 was done at an independent shop. The owner has purchased, built and is racing/testing a new 550M (575?) and I like to think I helped ;) It's a beautiful, kick-butt racer.

I am planning to take the 360 out tonight before it snows again. I will armorall the wheel wells, control arms, and damn the salt dust. She was laid up for 2 weeks with that bad O2 sensor and worse weather. Now she lives in a heated garage which is getting better every week. I started on the ceiling baffles a couple days ago.

My next project will probably be to check the top fluid level. I am also working on the under panels to vent the engine bay some more. Oil change in the spring of course.

These cars are not for 20 something posers.

And don't you mean Volkswag-audi-borghini emission cheaters? ;)

    Cinquevalvole forever! :D

Which connector is that? I recognize the location, but not the connection. Is that the Canadian Junction? ;)

Aha-- so it is indeed a Canadian Junction. Interesting. That's what you get for having much-more-usable seat belts. ;)

Sorry, I changed my post while you were writing yours. ;)

But, I seem to recall that my 90 348 had the same, but red. It's under the battery cover.

And yeah, I love my mouse-less seatbelts. :)

So F%^&%$ing what? That's true on any exotic.

You want parts that don't fail? Plastic that actually works? Valve guides that last 100,000 or more? Timing belts that go for 10 years? Leather that doesn't shrink (cuz it's vynil)? Buy a damn Miata.

They bit off more than they can chew and are whining about it. Grow the F up.

Sorry, I have had a bad day :)

I don't recall seeing that particular connection but perhaps I missed it. I'll look later if I get to work on the car tonight, as I'm into the starting system as we speak.

I would say that you have no idea how jealous I am of your conventional belt arrangement but since you have owned a 348 with gub'ment belts I'm sure you know what I mean. It was cool/offbeat/funky (read: fun to help hot chicks with) when I used to give track rides in other people's 348s but frankly it's just a PITA in my own car.

Hope you're enjoying that beauty. Write us some "new owner" feedback one of these days.

They said they have all the receipts. That's great. Now take a look at the total cost over 1) The miles of the car 2) the age of the car And granted, when you buy a used car, you'll be doing lots of deferred maintenance stuff. The person sold the car for a reason - and they probably weren't driving it regularly so there will be issues.

If I took a look at receipts just around a major, maint. costs will be high. but average it out.

My worst moments where when I got the 1st major on a 308. The car sat for years with the previous owner. Lots of deferred Maint. & I was just learning about the car. $10K after "While you are in there". Then 1K miles later, the bearings went. Time for another major & another $7K. Looking at the 1K miles...that's crazy numbers. Looking at over her 100K miles or her 30 years, it's not bad and about average what I've seen posted here by others.

As to the youtube piece - Hey, they are in it for the audience. Its all about wow factor. And they achieved it.

That "kid" is not broke or stupid (at least not at money). He owns a dozen highend performance cars like GTR, viper Rs4 etc... he makes his money by making stupid youtube videos that get clicks from the masses.

According to celebrity net worth, he is worth over 12mil

Heck, there is a youtube channel of two kids under 10 they review toys ( https://www.youtube.com/user/GabeandGarrett ), like power wheels etc. they have grossed around a million a year for the past several years.

Wow, that's impressive. I never thought they were broke and stupid-- I always thought they were pretty smart to be capitalizing on their vids. But I had no idea how smart. Sheesh, these kids are brilliant-- they're making a fortune on clickbait! As much as I hate clickbait, I gotta admire their entrepreneurialism.

I talked about this a couple years ago when he had the 360 and was making videos. I added up the number of views on all the 360 videos and looked up You Tubes pay per x number of views and showed that at that time he had made enough to completely pay for the car. And those videos are still getting views and making money today long after he sold the car. It's a well thought out racket, they know well what they are doing.

I don't believe he is worth $12M and apparently he has earned money from other sources beyond You Tube. Randy here know a fair amount about YT earnings and says he is making money, but not in the millions (from YT)
