    Actually its not a fiberglass panel back there it is metal...if its covered up in vinyl you are right- a poorly done respray or a complete color change. The corners back there are notorious for rust as there was an asbestos pad underneath to protect from heat but actually held water and rusted this area on the GT. I have a GT & we had to spend a bunch of time getting it cut out & repaired. I am told that it is common & if not taken care of it becomes a bigger problem. Very good catch...

    Your statement about the first owner listed is absolutely correct.

    However, he is not the person who took original delivery.

    Please note the time frame he owned the car shows the mystery in when he took possession.

    I know that the first listed owner may not have been tje first owner, or the person who took delivery. Jeez, maybe it was Elvis. I thought I had made that clear with my comments about picking someone else of your own choice as the owner.

    The missing rectangular items are NOT taillights - they are reflectors. And they are available. The other parts I mentioned are much more expensive.

    I have no idea what fiberglass you're talking about in the shelf area behind the seats. There is a fiberglass shell that runs from the front bulkhead under the floor and back up the rear firewall behind the seats but at least on my Dino it stops below the "shelf" area such as it is.

    I don't know if it is fiberglass or metal as I have a GTS -- I just know that the large shelf area behind the seats is supposed to be body color in a GT.

    I would contact Cosdel in San Francisco, they aren't cheap but they are experienced and handle every detail. You might contact Matthias Bartz he may know the car or the seller, he is well connected in Italy and could possibly recommend someone to inspect it. Be certain that the car isn't renumbered, stolen, etc.

    I don`t know the seller... but if the price is real.. it`s not expensive... restored GTS Euro model normally cost 350k to 400k Euro in Europe.... concours restoration even more....

    but with the US$ so strong and the Euro hammered US buyers are welcome in Europe... :)
    it was the other way around for many years....

    I would be very careful this is not a scam. San G is a tiny tourist hill town. Sounds very suspicious to me.

    I imported my Abarth from Germany to LA in2007 and it cost me about 5K.

    I have spoken to vendor. The car appears to be as described.




    For properly restored 206's & 246's these prices are still achievable. I have sold similar cars to the above for well above the prices you have highlighted.

    Several UK Dealers no longer seek to restore 206/246's due to the very high costs & time involved to complete the job properly. Also, the car owner will rarely pay the money required to undertake the work, especially when 206/246 restored values are relatively low in relation to the high restoration costs.

    Very interesting.

    Both the cars sold in the auction were LHDs. Do you think there is still a premium for RHDs, or do these prices reflect that a LHD sold in a country where they drive on the right will achieve the same as a RHD sold in a country where we drive on the left?

    Can I assume from your comment that you are in the trade?
