Sad by McLaren as my choice

You should thank your lucky stars you are even allowed to post here. After all, you only own a Mclaren. A used one at that. Usually I would ask the mods to delete someone with such a cheap car but I'll it it slide this time because of all the pain you have e endured.

 

Hopefully your car is not how you see yourself. In theory if you have the money one would choose the best car for driving, and not care about whether it costs more or less.

Here folks is the problem with the modern supercar, 90% of owners purchase them based on status, or to reflect status. Thats why so many moderns sorta suck to drive, because they are sold to people who cant really drive but to pose. Thats why ferrari maintains "exclusivity" and sells so few of the good cars they actualy make like saya speciale that these cars are never actualy driven as designed.

The cure for the MP12 owner should be to blow away every dip**** in another car with Maclarens superior performance.

I would say learn how to really drive the thing, that way when someone tries to insult you or you car on value they can just eat your exhuast fumes. Maybe thats why they judge you car on value, because its just for posing? In which case cost is the correct value.

 

I have a friend who used to have a 360 and then a California.. and then he drove a Mp4 which he LOVED. He now owns a 675 and he's told me that when I drive it, I'm going to leave Ferrari for McLaren. He actually drives his cars. Naturally, my 360 is a stick so.. I'm never selling it.

I get it. People think that you are copping out on a Ferrari, you're a wannabe because it's a McLaren and not a Ferrari. Kind of the BS like "Cayman owners just couldn't afford a 911".

The problem is you put too much emphasis on letting a material object define you. I used to be insecure until I defined better who I was. If you're on a deserted island and you have the clothes on your back.. who is that person. If you stop looking inside of you and look outside at other people and give of yourself to them, you'll be more confident in you. Then you'll see what's really important in life.

Everyone in this thread will be dead within a 100 years and nothing really matters. Certainly not what other people think of your car. Enjoy it in good health.

 

Perhaps if you were to gold plate the entire car you'd get more respect.

I get it...

My grandfather lived in NY an started a small realestate business. He got up to 20mm or so. He then gave my father 1mm to start his real estate business. Over 30 years he got it up to 8B or so. Now, flies in helicopters, travels the world, has a young model wife, and dabbles in politics.

I dont think he ever bought used cars though. Everything he bought was new, even the helicopter, and then had it custom fitted. Usually gold plated everything. But then again he always bought the best of everything. His stuff is mostly in NY, some in florida and Russia. Nothing in the ME I don't think.

He also liked putting his name on his buildings, so parking a used supercar in front of them would be a negative. Plus, usually at that wealth level, you have drivers and bullet proof cars.

Gotta go, he's gonna be on the news again in 2-3 hours. He and his buddy from Indiana are in Washington DC and have some kind of conference going on. Haven't kept up with it much, but figure as its a family thing I should go.

Good luck with the used supercar scenario. I get it. Its a drag...

Why do you need to get other's people approval to enjoy and be happy with what you bought? It's an amazing car on its own.

 

I feel you, brother. Every day, ugly guys with microweiners and bad personalities are victimized by their shallow friends. How are you supposed to get *****es, when the homies are busting on your whip? McLaren shaming has to be stopped. I'm trying to get together a bunch of celebrities to write a song similar to what USA for Africa did for world hunger. Dionne Warwick is working on it right now. Together we can make a difference.
