cold days, slippery surfaces, be careful
about 1 week ago , I almost lost control and hit the center divider.
trust me i was driving at 40mph and the rpm didn't even reach 5000.
I was kissing my tires after parked it with still a heartbeat rate of 90.

I know this car well and was a friend of the previous owner. Tragically, he passed away. It could be a decent car but the accident record will never go away so it will always have diminished value. Unless something was done when it was for sale at Ferrari of Los Angeles, it will take $15K to $20 to correct the issues but they are correctable. The price is finally starting to get to a more realistic point. From my perspective, it's a $135K to $140K car. Put another $20K into it and then it starts to make sense. I'd love to see it go to a good home with someone that knows how to take care of it.

I think it was simply a situation where the previous owner passed away (friend of mine) and the current owner inherited the car. She likely saw some of the prices that Stradales were going for at the time she inherited the car and felt it could draw that without knowing the impact of the accident or truly having an in-depth understanding of the market. It's easy for that to happen if you don't stay close to the market. As I mentioned in a previous post, it's actually a very nice car that needs about $15K to $20K (maybe less) to correct the issues. At $135K to $140K you can fix the issues and still be OK.

If I didn't already have a Stradale, I would make an offer in that range to them in a heartbeat. Eugenio took care of this car which speaks to the quality of the maintenance and the previous owner never abused it. Net, it was very well taken care of and a very nice car.

SCAMMER ALERT in Europe / Germany

It's the same story as all the other fake ads for US spec CS's here in Europe. The cars are always located in the Port Elizabeth terminal waiting for export. US spec cars, very cheap price (€160k including VAT/customs/shipping). Beware!

    https://www.autoscout24.com/offers/ferrari-360-challenge-stradale-f1-gasoline-red-9fc1f942-fae7-702d-e053-e350040a850d?cldtidx=2

US spec car, "car is currently located in US, NYC Terminal - Port Elizabeth waiting for the export authorization."

I was at Gooding Scottsdale today & watched that Stradale go across the block. It was a very low mile perfect example ~ and seemed to have gone correctly priced. Another one due through tomorrow.

So according to the info on Mike's fantastic site, it took about one and a half years to sell and sold for 54k less than original advertisement (396k vs 450)
Assuming that we believe the market has gone up for most of these 1.5 yrs it does show maybe how some asking prices are a bit optimistic.
It would be very interesting to see how much the 9k car sells to get a sense of the mileage effect. If it goes for 300k+ it may be good for those that want to drive their cars as it shows the spread is not massive. 400k for a car to look at is quite ... (I can't think of the right word !) especially when it's one of the BEST cars you can drive :)

There are lots of cars sitting in private "museums". This CS is probably not going to be sitting in some guys 2 car garage in the "burbs". It's an investment.

Here's the funny thing: I wrote an article for the Ferrari Market Letter in 2004 about how Stradales were special cars and would someday command a premium at the auctions. Nobody agreed with me. :)

So both of these were Canadian cars. Wonder if the prices would have been differet if they were originally US cars.
