If Newman touched it, I'm sure he will post something in this thread. Looks like a nice car, which may have now sat for near 3+ years.

So now we have a benchmark price for a really really good BB.
That 100 to 150k down off of peak.

Or put another way really good BBs probably not this good sold for 350 last year pretty comfortably.

It's a very nice car that I think should've got more money. Factory black with no DOT mods ever. Correct finishes and details (with dealer upgraded sport exhaust) But it does still fall into the driver catagory, not a top tier car because it's not absolutely perfect or restored. It's a car I would want personally because I could drive it without worrying about the paint or Kms and still take it to shows.

What factor did the non-matching numbers affect the final auction price, if any?

Its numbers matching. Engine assembly date 7/77, heads 2/77, engine number 00177 and box number 00178. Ive yet to see a box and block number match but they need to be close to each other and in this case the closest Ive seen!

Thank you! That was the perfect car for me: black/tan, Euro-spec, beautiful driver, sport exhaust, for a reasonable price. Kudos to the new owner!

+1. Lovely car in a great color combo. I think of these as a high point for Ferrari-- modern enough to provide a good driving experience, but still very much an old school car dripping with all the things that made Ferraris so special.

Congrats to the new owner. Very well bought!

Man, after looking at that thread the work looked awesome. Love the koenig stacks! They got a deal on that car. Still a quarter mil, but bet the expert work done could be closer to 100k than not. I bet is shows up again for sale. A dealer may have purchased at that price. hmm how would these look under plexi?

It does sound great but it also has different cams, exhaust and 36mm chokes. I love it to the point I would consider restoring it correctly in period rather than factory correct since it was modified back in 79 right after it was shipped to Canada.
