I'm looking for a picture of the electronics in the panels behind the driver and passenger seat. If there's anyone out there that has a gated F430 and can take some pics of the ECU and wiring harnesses behind the seats it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

Why would there be a TCU in a manual? There would be an e diff computer but that's behind the driver's seat. The ECUs are on each side.

Thanks for the catch, I was thinking of the e diff computer but wrote TCU by accident.

Well what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Other than the F1 ECU, they should be identical set ups. Is there some problem that you're trying to solve?

I think the F430 stick uses a standard mechanical diff and the e-diff is only present on F1 cars....

If it has a manettino, it has an e-diff.

Correct. The manual cars have an e diff.

I still don't know what this is for or what's the point, though. Eddie, don't you have a 355?

Not only do the manual F430s have an E-Diff, they also have an F1 pump to power it.

I do have a 355. I have a friend with a 430 who's getting ready to do an F1 to stick shift conversion. He's narrowed it down to basically everything that needs to be done, this is probably the final thing to check before moving forward.

Correct, my friend actually ordered the stick shift specific e-diff pump but not sure if that's required. Maybe the conversion could have been done with the regular F1/e-diff pump but just get some plugs since most of those lines aren't needed anymore.

Hi Scott, behind each seat there is a panel with 4 or 5 screws. I just need a picture of what's inside once the panels have been removed. More specifically, pics of the ECUs, wiring harnesses and any tags with numbers on them.

Totally get it but it would probably be best if your friend came on here directly and asked himself. For something as involved as this, I would worry that something's being lost in translation. You should introduce him to fchat and show him the wealth of knowledge that's here.

That's too bad because it sounds like he really needs the help of a forum.

I'm really keen to hear 'details' from someone who has personally carried out a successful (to factory standards) F430 conversion from F1 to stick shift!

Eddie, I was reading the the Drestless 360 conversion thread this morning and came across this other thread:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/538999-why-isnt-there-much-f1-gated-conversion.html

There is a guy in that thread named WOFERRARI or something who has all the parts to do an F430 and sounds like he has all the answers to how to do it. Tell your buddy to join the forum and message that WOFERRARI guy and he should be home free.

I am not sure why someone would want to convert a perfectly fine F430 F1 but it looks like that thread has some answers and that one guy sounds like he has all the F430 answers.

I would want to if it was reasonable cost (say less than £20k) and 'entirely' retrofitable.

The delta cost of a stick shift v F1 in many markets....like UK, is 'massive', in fact DEEPLY into 458 territory. This makes the stick 430 unattainable to many who would otherwise prefer that option. I'd love to have the stick shift for the driving pleasure of it, not with any thought of it making my F1 any more valuable (after all if left in converted form it would probably be worth less than as an F1).

I find the threads discussing conversion extremely interesting, but from what I can see at the moment there does seem to be a lot of talk about conversion with little tangible proof of it having been done, or at least a build list and itemised costs (at least for the F430 as opposed to 360).
