I thought I knew about contrast stitching but recently am not so sure I understand completely. Please help. For the 488, when one orders an interior leather color, lets just say for discussion - red. The red leather is on the seats, the mid door panel and lower dash. The upper and lower door and the upper dash are black. Now if you order a stitch color, for discussion say white, the white is only used on the red leather. It is not used on the black areas of leather. Black stitching is used on the black leather. Correct? If you wanted white stitching on everything, would you have to request this as an extra comp? However if you ordered a black interior, all leather is now black. If you order white stitching, is the white stitching only on the above same areas or is it on all the black leather, including the dash and upper/lower door panel? Are the above correct? Thanks.
Cannot answer the above, but you do need to decide between the normal and heavier stitching. 1 and 2. I went for the heavier one as I thought it would be better and longer lasting but I have since been told it can make the "stitched" look become more of a line and that the normal (1) option is better in most cases. Just to add to your thought process!
If you don't check contrasting stitching the stitching are same color of the leather. If checked, all the stitching are in the color of your choice
No, that is not correct. Part of the dash (on the 488) is black stitching, regardless if you option contrast stitching. @OP - i will make a pic of my rosso contrast stitching and the dash black stitching.
You are right but it is a small stitching on the upper of the dash, this stitching is always black i think problem of the reflection of light stitching in the windschield
Thanks. Very helpful info. Is that what is noted in the 488 personalization book as "tone on tone"? Look forward to see your pic.
Below the Rosso thick stitching. You can see the small black stitching on the dash that indeed is there for sun reflection. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very nice doen by the factory, almost art. We will visit the Atelier/factory in May and hope to see more of it
Gets the number 2 stitching. It looks better especially if you do a contrasting color. I've done red and white in my last two cars and it looks awesome. I did not contrasting in my f430years ago and didn't like it as much.
If anyone is interested, found these pics from a post 5 years ago, although I must admit, would have thought they should have been reversed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is there a major difference with STC1 and STC2? Can anyone describe it better how it looks in person and what their opinion is on the more desirable option? Thank you.
Look at 997usa post above with his beautiful rosso stitching pics. I believe most get ST2. I have ordered ST2 in my previous 4 cars and plan to do it in my 488.
