Congrats! Car looks great!
Good job bringing the car up to snuff. I also had, still have, an old Alfa before getting my 348ts. I thought my '69 Spider was going to be as close to a Ferrari as I would ever get, until I succumbed to whatever it is that make us succumb. Glad I did. Now I'm thinking about selling the Alfa. Seems superfluous while I have the 348. Plus the safety factor. I was horrified to read the thread about Bullfighter's terrible accident in his old Porsche Speedster. My Spider wouldn't fare much better. I should at least put shoulder belts in it (only has stock lap belts). You ever feel that way with your GTV and Spider?
@nader : I have been making a lot of comparisons between the 355 and my Alfas (the gtv in particular) so far I have not had any desire to let go of the Alfa. I think for me it is a question of era, the Alfa is a gorgeous example of 60's Italian auto design (wood, chrome, and stainless steel...), which the 355 of course does not have. Now, if I had a Ferrari 330 with a v12, umpteen carburetors, a wood steering wheel, etc then I might consider the gtv redundant But that is not likely to happen any time soon, and even after a decade and a half with the gtv it still brings a huge smile to me every time I get in it and start the engine For me my '69 gtv is a high tide mark for great automotive design, and my 1995 355B is another high tide mark for just the right dose of technology, performance and old school driving experience. I still laugh hysterically every time I bound the needle off 8500 in a tunnel !
Andrew, Great to see another 1750gtv owner! It is one of the best cars if have ever driven! I had huge fun with mine, sold it last september, after 10 years of happy and stressless ownership to make place for my '95 F355GTB (more to follow when the weather permits) When I sold the 1750 I had many sleepless nights! all the best Yves
@Yves : À 1750gtv and a 1995 F355gtb ... you have excellent taste in cars, I must say! Image Unavailable, Please Login
