this! no one should be hating on this car. It will push all manufacturers to improve which means a win for the end user. I like that rendering quite a bit. Looks better than the picture. More aggressive stance.
I need to see more. Very interesting. Not sure if I like it- but its too soon. I would say its encouraging.
I see what you mean. I think it's the angle of the picture more than anything. It's interesting that you mention the 458 in this regard. I really don't think the rear wheels sit well in the arches of the 458. The gap is huge and they are tucked way in there. Which I think makes the arch look like it's sticking out. I think we need a picture directly from the side to see how well they actually fit. Until then or until we see it in person, we can only wait. The black roof however, I completely agree. It does absolutely nothing for the car. I do like that they've sort of gone back to the old McLaren philosophy of less is more. I was a huge fan of the F1 back in the day. I choose to be optimistic
Hey I am glad that Mclaren has come on to challenge Ferrari, we as customers win from the competition. But the styling - Train Wreck.
The standard 458 spec has the same problem. Once lowered and spaced, it turns the car into a beauty queen. I hope this will have the same effect on the P14 but the general shape of the rear portion won't make it get those smooth lines. Aggressive over elegant will most likely be the way to go for the P14 IMO. Gray, dark rims and lowered. I agree on mclaren needing to follow the F1 path. It is one of the all time great and mclaren has major potential to cut into Ferraris customer base. They just need to fix the depreciation issue
This prototype has a completely different wheel design, and also appear larger (21" rears?) with more offset. McLaren usually offers optional wheels so perhaps this design will be one of them? Image Unavailable, Please Login
It will be a great car no doubt about it. Even the 650S is pretty good. But emotionally I will prefer ferrari, lamborghini and porsche before I ever get around to seriously think about a mclaren. These hobbies are more about emotions than anything else. But mclaren are making great cars and keeping the competition honest.
100% agree that the 675LT is about as good as it gets currently in terms of handling. But I honestly doubt McLaren will debut an all new platform that is not top of the line.
Planning to see at the LA unveiling....I like the styling actually more than the 488. But, lets see in person. I dont like the 12C or 650, but 675LT is pretty nice. P1 is stunning.
I cant help but see the new Acura NSX + Pagani Huayra and even some LaF in the rear arches. One thing i dont like is that headlight cluster (or 'whole') in the nose. Too big. I want to see it in a more rich color.
LOVE IT 720S = 720 HP? Called Mc dealer and FedEx'ing deposit check Monday. No allocation news yet...going to be a Nov/Dec car I have a feeling.
In that last photo- of the white rendering- what I'm not liking is the "butt". Seems weak. Might just be the angle. Hopefully the behind is strong and powerful.
I think the 675 is a better looking car. This appears more striking but not better looking to my eye.
The 488 is 492.7 kj/s And no, it's not 710 horsepower, it's 710 break horsepower. 710 break horsepower is 720 horsepower Horsepower is a metric unit, break horsepower is the imperial unit Sorry, I'm a bit bored tonight - wife's traveling
