This is all true. However, it is an improper analogy to compare any of the innovations you mentioned with adding electric motors for propulsion - hybrid or otherwise. Completely different animal. Electric motors are not engines and Ferrari is synonymous with engines.

KEY POINT IS HERE IS WE ASSUME ALL CLIENTS ARE LIKE US, WE ARE A HUGE MINORITY, MANY CLIENTS WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE BONNET AND JUST WANT THE KUDOS. LOOK AT PEOPLE WHO GO MAD FOR A CALIFORNIA T (AND NOT JUST FOR THEIR WIVES !). FERRARI KNOW THAT.

At some point, as time marches on, there will be a company clinging to the past and catering to enthusiasts. Maybe that will be Ferrari, though I doubt it. Electric motors will augment a NA engine, not muffle it like a turbo. I get your point, but the future is inevitable and I trust that Ferrari will make the best of it.

They will still have an engine. I didn't see anyone saying that the LF is not emotional and evocative because of the electric motor.

Well said. Hardly a mass exodus based on the LaF & LaFA. Quite the opposite.

I don't think so. Why would they? I can't see any single drawback. You get the sound and response of the N/A combined with the low end torque of electric. When the F12M is replaced, we're more than likely looking at an all new type of battery, so weight will be less of a concern. It's a win if you ask me.

As for time of replacement? 2019 or 2020 will not be the years. Too many other cars have to be launched first. 2022 or 2021.

I think it's kind of funny that the F12M has not been launched, and we're already heavily debating what's next.

Not to stray too far OT...what car would be faster on the track....LaF or LaF with only the petrol motor and a lot less weight...no heavy hybrid system of electric motors and batteries ? Obviously hypothetical...

Well.. maybe it could be a fusion of F12B, F12 TDF and F12M, with all the elements of an XX model.

In what concerns Ferrari cars there is a very important sentimental component in the way we see and interact with them and therefore each individual is a case with his own taste and preferences. In my case, despite of all that can be said in defense of hybrid motorizations I don't subscribe them, and a Ferrari car continuous to be a great piece of art with a single V8 or V12 aspirated engine.

What's the weight of the hybrid system? 70-80 kg? The system in the LaF is quite light from what I recall.

The loss of that low end grunt will have a major impact on the performance. If the car would have been faster without, I doubt they would have built it.

It's a very nice render, accuracy aside. The front fender and door area might not be very off as per the facts we have. In fact I was fooled by an instant thinking it might be the real thing.

A small hybrid power plant that could provide power to the front wheels when traction is limited would radically improve performance. After a certain speed the hybrid is shutdown and only called into action when maximal force is needed. That would be the holy grail to the next generation F12.
