I remember seeing your old GTB at the National Meet in DC back in 2006. Beautiful car! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And you practically laughed and hung up on me when I tried to sell it to you for less than half of what it just hammered for. Remember that, Augustine?😂 Good times!
Car sold at RM for 88k plus buyers fee. I looked at this car a few years back. Decent shape but had a hit on the front bumper. 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS | Arizona 2017 | RM Sotheby's
Does anyone know what was changed that caused the 15 hp loss for the Swiss/Swedish market car? The cat. probably was part of the loss and I think compression ratio was reduced. What else? Different camshafts or just different cam timing changed by rotating the cam pulleys on the camshaft pins? And ignition timing? Different ignition curves?
I have to check my archives, but compression ratio is indeed lower. The K-Jet also, the "C" engine has the KE-3 Jet without WUR. Gear ratios are different also, if my memory serves me well, but I will check. Rgds
Am reverting...not much found, actually... The three engines are: Euro, non cat, = factory designation F105; designated by "W" in position four of the VIN US, catalysed = F105C 040; "X" in position four of the VIN Swiss, catalysed, KE-3 jet (no WUR) = F105C 046, "C" in position four of the VIN. All three engines are the same capacity: 83 X 73,6 mm = 3184 cm3 F105 ("euro, non cat") is: compression ratio 9,8:1 / 270 hp / Torque: 304 Nm/31Kgm. F105C 040 (US, cat.) is: compression ratio 9,2:1 / 260 hp / Torque: ?? Nm /29,5 Kgm F105C 046 (Swiss, cat) is: compression ratio 9,2:1 / 255 hp / Torque 275 Nm/ 28Kgm Valve timing is, as far as I have found, identical on all three variants: Inlet: opening before TDC: 16 closing after BDC: 48 Exhaust opening before BDC: 54 closing after TDC: 10 Gear ratios are identical for all three variants: 1st: 1:3,077 2nd: 1:2,118 3rd: 1:1,524 4th: 1:1,120 5th: 1:0,827 Final drive is 17/63 on Euro cars, 16/65 on US cars, 17/61 on swiss cars. According to post number 15 in the her-under thread, by "DGS", the Marelli has three different connectors, which could indeed mean that there are three different ignition timings; ignition timing is indeed different for "Euro" or "US" cars. Steve Magnusson or Brian Crall would know, but we are drifting further and further away from the 328 market, towards the "technical", aren't we? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/239358-328-microplex-timing.html Rgds
I am in the market to purchase an exceptional 328 with the following criteria: - I live in the northeast US, but will happily look at a car anywhere in the US. - While I would prefer a GTB, my focus is finding the best car first. Therefore, if I find the right GTS, I will be more than happy. - US 1988.5 or 1989 model (89 preferred) - Rosso corsa, beige interior and castoro carpets or rosso corsa, nero interior with nero carpets - I am looking for an superb car. Obviously, there are plenty of cars for sale, but I want the best of the best. My intention is maintain the car for preservation and concourse purposes. Please PM me if you know of a car that fits within this category. Much appreciated.
Sorry, I missed this. I don't recall the name of the dealer off the top of my head. Some Googling should find it. -F
FYI- 1988 Red/Tan GTS with convex wheels, 34K, $8K service last month, clear title, records, etc. on BAT: 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS | Bring a Trailer
Sold for $75k, not bad! Not sure if that price includes the BaT buyers fee? But either way, pretty good price
$75K was the final and winning bid. Buyer also to pay 5% buyers fee ($3,750). Thus, all-in price = $78,750.
And another Blu 328. This one for $62.500, but may be more than 23.444 miles ! 1987 Ferrari 328GTS | Beverly Hills Car Club
Agree, it looks to be more than 23K miles, but I could be mistaken. Reasonable set of photos so you can "see what you get." Wonder what blue it is. I didn't see a photo of the paint sticker. Seems a little light and bright for blu sera 504C (might be the studio lights as blue sera changes in light) and not gray enough for medio 506C. Maybe chiaro 503C?
If you look at the seats and the underside; never ever 23k miles. Underside looks like they have done Paris-Dakar with the car. 123 k miles and + repaint my guess.
