Are the new cars expected to have that continuous fin from the intake to the back? That looks odd to me.
I don't think so. I think the TR "model" is just a "stand-in" for livery purposes. I do however, taking into account the pic of the Manor and pic of the SFH-17 using the "2016 livery" that they will use a "shark-fin" or "dolphin-fin" in the back....they seem consistent from a fin perspective if you look at both pics.
The new rear wings are 150 mm lower than last year. Apparently, as a result, the vortices created by the front suspension now don't shoot through unterneath the rear wing any longer. The shark fins help maintaining consistency/reduce effect of vortices during cornering. Cars running higher rake (RBR) should, naturally, be less affected. Mercedes running very low more so.
