I wanted real 18" BBS LM wheels, but they're hard to find and kind of expensive. I found these replicas for a great deal, and they seem to be fairly well made. I'm surprised to see that going up to 18" wheels with 10 mm wider tires weigh almost the same as stock. These are the Hankook Ventus sticky tires (wear rating of 200) that were on closeout a few weeks ago. $650 or so for the whole set. Not bad, huh?

Here are the weights. Should have weighed the new lug bolts, because I had to use 27mm bolts with a 17 mm hex, which I'm sure weigh less than half the stock bolts.

You're right, Brian, they aren't real replicas. I think they're fine.

Cool! I'm glad I don't have to clean them though. :)

(Is it wrong that I think about that before buying a car or buying wheels?)

There's always been lots of talk about a wheel's weight (unsprung), but for the street and an occasional autocross it doesn't really matter.

    Instead... Doowutchyalike :)
