I suspect the owner did it precisely because he likes it, but also - and more importantly - because everyone else in his sphere would also like it and think he was excellent and cool for doing it.

What people on the other side of the planet think would have been the furthest thing from his mind.

So, in the spirit of that, I think it looks absolutely rubbish, a total joke, and about as far away from "cool" as it is possible to get.

You have that right to opine, however as I stated he doesn't care what you or I think.

Or he very well might, though I'm sure as a secondary priority to satisfying a personal aesthetic. Oftentimes, I've seem it proclaimed in the course of one of these builds that one of the desired attributes or metrics judging success is to "upset the purists". A key ingredient in designing the controversey that results in the end goal of e-fame, ego stroking. The social media generation and car culture tends that way.

In related news, this just popped up in my feed. Ugh, poor Testarossa.

Au contraire, it's more likely that he did this as an up yours message.

That Camaro looks pretty good actually. Better than it does normally I'm afraid.

If you read Steve's thread he knows that and as such said it. Also his right (and mine) to say how **** it looks.

I 'customised' my Ford as a kid and thought it looked cool with its blue painted body, white vinyl roof and chrome 8 spokes with white lettered tyres. I look at the picture today and think it looked positively stupid, but it is what kids do and I'm sure there were plenty that looked and laughed. I'm doing that today with this totally ruined pathetic looking 348.

It's utterly ridiculous and hardly looks usable. Maybe it has air suspension or something and he can lift it up otherwise he must wear the inside edge of the tyres out in no time and not to mention beach it :D

Did I mention how **** it looks?

Looks over performance. The ultimate in posing. And the "driving experience" quip was classic. All these cars are good for is rolling around in shopping malls at these niche car shows. Now a suspension lift for curbs and a performance coil over/air bag set up is another story, and way more expensive. ;)

The "proper" term for this type of drop/suspension mode is "stanced". My personal term for it is "****".

    Understood.

However, nowhere did I say that he has no right to his opinion.

I am simply stating that you and I and everyone in the world can say how dumb/crappy/insert-whatever it looks but the owner does not care what you or I or the rest of the world thinks, otherwise he wouldn't have done that to begin with.

His car, his money, his taste, his choice, his prerogative.

Indeed, I applaud him or her for that and quite agree. I'm not one for asking folk which car I should buy or whether I do this or that to it. I do it/buy it because I want to and not because my neighbour wants to. Likewise I do expect and don't mind to be challenged on my ideals :)

The real engineering joke here is that any gains from a lower center of gravity are nullified by the loss of contact patch and ride control with that amount of silly camber. This also effects acceleration and power to the ground.

looks much better then the first 348.. but 20's on a 348/355 is definitely too big.. 19's are the max..

No, it doesn't. The proportions are completely wrong, and it looks like the suspension bottomed out on a speed bump and never recovered.
