    No worry, we both are :D

    This is the fourth set (one set missing a couple of wrenches if my memory serves me right) that I've seen with this type of pliers including the set I have that was last set pictured in my earlier post #438. Interestingly that all the four sets are having the same combination:
    Amber screwdrivers;
    Wrenches set with "Ferrari" and "Chrome Vanadium" with the parallelograms;
    T type window crank;
    The red moulded handle pliers with black colour letters black anodized head and round cut-out; and
    The spark plug wrench that is having a crown section in a distinctive sharp edge (not sure how to describe it properly).

    I do think it's like the blue handled pliers belonging to a set with particular combination of tools that came with 84 cars mostly. And I believe the set we are seeing here are found in 85 cars mostly. We shall see if more similar sets pop up in the future.

    EDIT for other readers: Just to note how you can tell a round cut out and a rectangular cut out for this type of pliers if you can only see the other side. The black anodized heads are having a slightly different profile of flat surface... Err never mind if you have no idea what that is :)

    I had one pair of pliers with the round cut-out, but white inscriptions on the handles, I think, but I'm not sure, that it came originally from a Testarossa tool roll.

    I think I've seen that type too, can't remember where, may be you posted it here before?

    EDIT: Found it, in your post #27 :)
    EDIT again: And my own set that was the 4th set in my own post #438 :D

    Someone, (Bart vdp) was looking for a "T" handle. I looked in Ebay and there was 1 for sale, yes, today. Price is $395 but as you said, it's rare, so the person (Bart vdp in Belgium) may want to consider it. Just trying to help here...

    My US-spec '85 QV was missing the handle and I bought the one pictured believing it was correct. As an FChat follower for six months now, I've learned there may be variation from the factory as to what tools exactly ended up in the cars. Does anyone know for certain if my window handle is correct or not? Thanks.

    I would say it depends on the tool combination of your tool kit. See my post #438 for the usual combinations.

    I have seen the T handle on eBay. Beside the price on ebay I also have to pay import charges (106 euro) and shipping (45 euro). I'll wait for one for sale in europe. No hurry.

    Excellent post piezo #438! Unfortunately it suggests I was sold a very nice kit for a 1981-1983, as it exactly matches your description. Looks like I'll need to get the seller to exchange it for a correct 1985 kit.

    One last question... your post shows two kits that could apply to an '85. With QVs ranging from 41701 to 59265, and mine being 57973, is there any way to tell if I should have one matching your "1984-1985" pictures (Kravm/Ferrari wrenches) or your "1985" pictures (Ferrari wrenches)? Thanks again.

    Actually there's no way to tell, the information provided in this thread are collective knowledge from many previous threads and it did encourage more contribution from other FChatters. As the title says its "Unofficial" ;)

    I believe the kit I posted a few posts before (#547) is correct for a 85!

    Thanks again piezo. Can I please ask some US '85 QV owners with known-original tool kits to chime in? Here's my dilemma: a reputable Ferrrari classic parts seller says he is certain the correct 1985 QV kit matches what piezo lists as the "1981-1983" kit in post #438. That is, a 1985 QV should have:

    DESCRIPTION A
    - screwdrivers with amber translucent handles with no markings.
    - wrenches say "POLYTOOLS - ITALY" within a hexagonal on one side, and CHROM - VANADIUM" within a hexagonal on the other side.
    - the pliers have orangy-colered handles with no markings.
    - Z-type window crank.
    - pouch has an unused pocket between the pliers and the spark plug wrench.

    This is quite different from what is shown as a "1985" kit in post #438, and also from the eBay listing for a '85 kit in post #547, both of which have:

    DESCRIPTION B
    - darker amber screwdriver handles with no markings.
    - wrenches that say "Ferrari" on one side and "CHROM - VANADIUM" on the other.
    - pliers with reddish handles and a black "Ferrari" on one handle.
    - T-type window crank.
    - pouch does not have an unused pocket between the pliers and the spark plug wrench.

    I appreciate responses from '85 QV owners - I labeled the options above to make responding easy - does your original '85 QV kit match DESCRIPTION A or DESCRIPTION B? Big thanks!

    I have set B in my Euro '85 QV (#58361), see post #295.

    And I hope to find a 12-13 wrench some day to make it a complete set.

    Hopefully it's not yours Alex... A very complete Polytools set that haven't been on the market for quite some time.

    That label means it's a replacement set later supplied by dealer, right?

    Dear Piezo... With your excellent post #438 in hand, I PM'd several owners of '85 QVs (found in the QV Registry then cross-referenced here on FChat) and confirmed that the correct kit for my May 1985-build 308 is exactly the kit you list for "1985 QV" in post #438. I then found a kit with nearly perfect tools (coincidentally it was the one you listed in post #547) and returned the incorrect kit I was sold earlier.

    The Polytools set you attached is the same or similar to the one I sent back... it seems it's for an earlier 308, again consistent with your post #438.

    I learned some interesting trivia in my research, for example how later 308s had T-handle window cranks same as the upcoming 328, despite the 308 manual/parts books showing a Z-handle.

    I am happy to have the "do I have the right tools" phase of Ferrari ownership behind me!

    Good to know that you found your right kit! We need to reunite these kits with their rightful Ferraris.

    Seems I have everything now, except for the window crank. (1982 308 GTBi, Polytools wrenches, slim red-handled pliers, spark plug tool fits 14mm socket wrench, screwdrivers are a mix of flat and rounded ends)

    There was the "negotiate price" option, so I guess it was cheaper than the listed price.

    It appears that my two flat blade screwdrivers are very nearly the same size. What's up with that?

    That's pretty normal. Lots of kits seem to have the flat heads just slightly different or even of exactly the same tip size, particularly for the older orange translucent types. The later Amber/brown type have more variation, mostly the screwdriver length. You're lucky if the two are obviously different in tip size.

    Hi guys, a question regarding my toolkit, I was just going through it and realised my 14 combination spanner has Everest 222 on it where as the rest are Everest 22. Can anyone confirm this is correct or is it a ring in so to speak. Interested in people's thoughts on the screwdrivers as well "chrome vanadium" is the only markings. They look correct comparing to pictures earlier on in the thread but look pretty cheap and nasty in real life[IMG] [IMG][IMG]
