The hose to the cold start was leaking...I removed it...got some new hose...how do I get that fitting in that tiny hole in the hose?

I just finished remaking all of the fuel lines on my 308. I highly recommend the CIS insertion tool made by Verrel at Unobtanium Supply. It is certainly doable without the tool, but the tool is a bargain at twice the price. Add a little lubrication (saliva) to the barb end of the fitting and push straight on. I would bet that dipping the end of the fuel line in hot water might help also.

Michael, thanks for the tip. Where did you get your new hose? Is it identical to original? I can't find any...

Got it from Unobtanium Supply as part of a fuel line replacement kit, but that includes much more than you would need to replace just that one line. You can get it by the meter from Belmetric.com.

Try lubing with a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil.

I love Marvel Mystery Oil. My Uncle turned me on to it 50 years ago!

Soaking the hose in hot water will also help soften it up a little.

P.S. Even though I love Mystery Oil, I don't think any lubricant should be used in this case. The line is 30 or 40 psi and any lubricant wouldn't be a good idea. I've completed the installation and a hot air gun did the trick :)

Ok...a little more confusion. This is the hose that came off the cold start injector. The i.d. is about 1/16" or 1.5mm and the o.d. is about 1/4". Every time I see a suggested size it's 3mm i.d. Anyone think this is normal?

The ID of the pipe to all the injectors is as I recall 2mm and OD is 6mm.

The pipes to and from the WUR are different, ID is 3mm and OD is 5mm

Getting the 2mm ID tube onto the barbs needs the Verrell tool or equivalent and helps also to warm up the tubing.

I have plenty of this tube so if you need just that piece I could easily stick that in the post.

Andy, thanks so much. That's the answer I needed. I found some of the 2mm x 6mm tubing on eBay. Thanks so much for your offer!
