Back in the late '90s to early 2000s when I first started thinking about buying a Ferrari, I read everything I could get my hands on. Today, I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion. If I was to buy one today, which I'm not, I'd probably get a F430. Why? Because I like it.

You know what they say about opinions.

I could tell some stories about some auto journalists but I suppose I shouldn't since I still get checks from some magazines.

I like Andrew Frankel who writes for a few car magazines in the UK, most notably MotorSport magazine. His lengthier pieces are better than his shorter reviews, though I like both.

Ok thank you. Andrew I know. Any other suggestions welcome. What about people like Mike Sheehan? I know he's in the trade but he writes for magazines. Good?

    Mixed reviews about Sheehan.

There is a well respected member here (whom I will not name) says Sheehan is an idiot and always has been.

I like Mike. But every time I read him, I think of the Greg Allman song, "I'm no angel." Like anyone who has been around for a while, he has scars on his cheeks. That said, I think his recent commentary has been spot on.

Edit: There's was a reason why Gerald Roush didn't sell Ferraris.

I enjoy watching Doug's videos as he often shows the quirks related to a car, things you wouldn't otherwise know about. It's a bit more fresh than some other reviews that one can find.

Still, it would be difficult to provide all the information about a car as some information is more relevant to others than something else. I dare say most people are interest in 0-60 times and top speed plus the amount of ponies under the hood, but some other people find torque and 60-120 more important knowledge. Satisfying all is a difficult prospect :)

I'd stay away from any internet bloggers/writers because 99% of them are shills selling something. Youtube/Facebook/Google have unleashed a tidal wave of conmen and marketting fraud.

Do people really think strangers have a vested interest in giving them an unbiased opinion?

Many of these 'youtube' guys may very well have started out with different intentions but as soon a view counts come in the ad money also flows in so now an inherent bias is immediately formed...

I can't believe we got to 27 posts without Andrew's name coming up. He is a great writer who, luckily, likes Ferraris.

Doug D. is always, well generally, worth a giggle.

I'm convinced that if you work in and around Ferraris sooner or later somebody is going to come undone. I guess it's the nature of the bidness.

His perspective seems fresh, simply because he does not know anything about the cars he covers. He sources his ideas from general stereotypes and traditional branding.

    "This is an italian car"
"Here is weird stuff. This is italian"
"Here is cool stuff. This is cool italian"
"Overall the car is in fact a car, did i mention it is italian?"
"For more of my thoughts, click my link."
*link offers no additional thoughts, only a summary of video*

Terrible content. Everyone knows it. SAD!

I watch Doug's videos because it's interesting for me to see what someone who doesn't know anything about a car thinks of it. I think he's probably faking it a bit though. There's just no way that he knows as little as he appears to in his videos. He went apesh*t over the mouse belts in the Testarossa he drove. Does he really not know that was federally mandated at the time?

Although this is not a dedicated Ferrari blog, and has a team of writers; the Petrolicious blog does have a few good articles and stunning pictures on Ferrari. They have a few features on vintage Ferrari cars and owners.
    Hope this helps you.
