I'm loving it too. Kinda like a twist of the old Marlboro colors but with a papaya twist.

Also, here's my photoshop of the STR12, had Toro Rosso gone with this color it would have been drastically different than what we see every year and much better to boot.

Yet the rb13 and tr car are so vastly different. I don't think your assumption is accurate at all, if they were developing the cars together, the cars would undoubtedly share a lot more similarities. And don't forget both outfits were using different PUs until this year.

They share all they can. The design, they can't and the engine difference was just a one off.
I see them not far off Williams as resources.

Much better than the orange and black scheme.

Can somebody remind we what a 'S duct' is and it's purpose is please?

Mateschitz blocked it though. He's got very deep pockets, and especially if the STR is a good car this year, Mr RB has even fewer reasons to sell him.

    My dummy explanation:

It reduces the pressure from under the nose/front area by redirecting it to the top of the car. The lower pressure area then encourages/coaxes/renergizes faster moving air to flow in and stay attached to the car, thereby increasing downforce.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fact the toro rosso looks so alike the Mercedes was planned in advance in order to compare data on Red Bull's own design against Mercedes aero solutions.

That's an interesting opening. Presumably it's a redirection of airflow, but where's it coming from?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Does anyone know what the new rear wheel/tire combo weighs now? I wonder if the increased size and weight will cause pit stop issues in the beginning? I'm happy they increased the mechanical grip this year.
