Was enamored with the 308 when I saw it on a magazine cover well before Magnum started. Wouldn't say I followed the show or watched just to see the 308 but do remember liking some of the episodes I'd seen. Thought the car was the cat's meow before the show and have to say it had no influence on my love of the car.

Agree. Have them in spite of the shows. Bad part is TR is white. Everyone has some comment.

I too was taken by the 308 in the Magnum tv show, and have always wanted one, however I have watched them rise in value tremendously and sadly will probably never get one, but I live vicariously through you owners who share your pics and stories [I especially love the tech services], thinking I could do that!!!

however i watched the show because of the Ferrari, not liked the Ferrari because of the show. As a matter of fact, i tend to not watch the episodes that do not have many car scenes.

When I wanted to down-size from a 9-pass wagon, I looked at a Sunbeam Alpine.
But the process to put up the top was a bit involved.
Then I saw Dustin Hoffman put up the top on an Italian roadster with one hand.
I couldn't afford an Alfa at that point, so I wound up with a Fiat 124.
(My feet were too big for a Fiat 850. ;))

So I was more influenced by "The Graduate". ;)

By the time Magnum went on the air, I had "graduated" (nudge nudge) from a Fiat to an Alfa spider.

Eventually, an Italian car enthusiast is going to "graduate" to a Ferrari. :p

And, no, I never ran my Alfa spider out of gas. ;)
(Although a faulty gauge caused me to run my GTV-6 dry, once.)

I used to watch the show back in Greece. However, that wasn't the reason I bought one. The timeless look and design is what made me purchase one.

I was age 10 through 18 during the run, and saw every episode, so yes that car is burned on my brain.

My father and I watched that show every Thursday(?) night while it was on. Great memories. Not only was it a fantastic looking car, but seeing it in the show definitely added value.

Never watched the show until AFTER I brought home a lovely red n'tan 308 GTS QV of my own. Finally discovered the show about six months later on NETFLIX, and enjoy it quite a bit.

My interest in these cars stems from several close encounters with them as a kid. They were so different from everything else on the road. Still are, for that matter. I gradually began to plot and scheme about owning one some day. Only took another 27 years or so...
