Just heard McLaren is opening a dealership here, groundbreaking is supposed to start next month...
They sent me an email about a month ago. No time line. Seems like they are one of these mega dealers who sell lots of smaller brands. New McLaren Vehicles For Sale - Park Place
Just what I needed. I have had a dark blue 650s on my shopping list for some time...waiting to find one maybe 3 years old to take advantage of depreciation curve
As a side note I drove past Towbin a few weeks ago and they are well underway making their new Ferrari showroom over on Sahara.
I have a 12C spider in the same spec.. What a fantastic car. With the 720S coming out in a few months, I'd expect you'll be in a good position to pick up a 650S for not a lot of money very soon.
Robin. One of our local guys here in Raleigh has a beautiful 720s (he has a volcano orange 650s and a P1 also). You can see the car in the North/South Carolina regional thread. My plan was to wait until the 650s had been out about 3 years....seems to be the right time to buy them. Gonna keep the Ferraris, though. Interested in experiences others may have had. Looking at more homes when we are next out first week in April...so maybe I can help out soon on the spotter's thread Ryan.
Nice.. I'm assuming you're talking about Mark in Raleigh. Seems like a great guy with an ever greater collection of cars. My experience with the 12C so far has been the best of any car I've owned. I put 12,000 miles on it in the first two months I had it by doing a big lap around the country. It behaved flawlessly and was just as fun blasting down straight highways in South Dakota as white-knuckle driving along the California coast. That many miles in such a short amount of time meant some wear-and-tear stuff wore out pretty quickly, but overall it couldn't have been better. I'm already planning a northeast roadtrip to Montreal for the GP and another one this fall to Vegas via Austin for the GP and Pure McLaren event a few weeks later. One thing I did notice while in Vegas was that I had just about zero traction there. I'd heard that the roads get greasy due to lack of rain or something to that effect, but I wasn't prepared for TC to kick in just about any time I tipped into the throttle. Is that a year-round thing or just during the summer when it's really hot out? I didn't experience that anywhere else, including Palm Springs in 105 degree heat...
Whatever it is the roads are made out of here is just slippery when it's hot out. My understanding is that it has something to do with the oil used in asphalt to make them more resistant to the effects of our high temps. Mark
Just got off the phone with Park Place service dept in L.V. They said should be about 6 months. Cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab Only 2 that I drive.
So they are building where the Park Place Infinity Dealership is? I had bought an G37 IPL from there years back before it was Park Place.
You may already know this.....Just wanted to post an update. I called Park Place Infinity and they have been sold to another dealer so the Mclaren expansion to this dealership is on hold. They said it's going to be up to the new owners if they pick up Mclaren. So, guess it won't be happening for awhile if it happens.
