If you're more into a sports bar, you can also try the clubhouse bar behind the Kempinski hotel. Also good pub food. Or if you want to try an American style Diner, check out the American Dream Diner just a few minutes walk from the train station (also in direction of the Kempinski, more or less). And I strongly recommend you use the train from the airport to the city. It's much cheaper than the taxi, and much quicker too (half a dozen minutes for just a few CHF).
In case anyone here is looking for a detailer in the Lausanne area, let me know. I just got my 360 back from Pierre, and she looks brand new. Wash, polish and a ceramic coating. He replaced the small clear vinyl sheets behind the wheels as well. All swirl marks are gone and she sparkles like she was meant to be in a showroom. Even the Tubi exhaust has been polished to a mirror finish. Took him over a week, but well worth it
Photos are in this thread: Asphalte.ch ? Afficher le sujet - Crystal Look Detailing Cost with wash, polish and ceramic detailing (body and wheels), polishing of the exhaust and replacing the aging clear plastic strips behind the wheels was just under 2000.- He said in the thread that it was something like 45h of work. He does speak English too...
P.S. He said he can also do some work remotely at your location if you don't want to bring the car to his workshop. And he personally came to see me and the car last year to assess the work and took notes on what I asked him to perform. He'll also be at the next Cars and Coffee in Nyon on the first Sunday of April (on the 2nd). If anyone here doesn't mind driving to Nyon in the morning, come say hello Last time we had 30-40 cars of all type including a 458 and a Lambo.
Yeah, it's super shiny, cherry red, swirl marks amd holograms all gone. He also gave me some tips on future washing and maintaining the ceramic coating.
Oh I forgot to mention. He also worked on the rubber strips to bring back the dark black luster to them and also redid the tires.
How do used car warranties work in Switzerland? Do professional retailers have to offer a 1 to 2 year warranty like in the European Union? Any input would be appreciated.
Hi Everyone! Does anyone know of 488 GTB around 250CHF ? Please let me know I'd been keen to keep it Thank you A
Sorry that nobody answered your question. I asked a friend who works for a VW dealer as sales guy. He told me that by Swiss law you have warranty but that it is possible to exclude the warranty in certain situations by just writing the right phrases into the contract. So, the warranty is not guaranteed in any case. Anyway, most cars from dealers are sold with a warranty which usually is provided by a warranty company such as Quality One or so. To be sure, I would ask the dealer if the warranty is included. If it says ab Platz then this means, there is absolutely no warranty. Hope this helps Markus
Hey Antonio! I dont have a 488 for sale but hope to see you again soon! Sorry that I did not come back to our Whatsapp conversation as I was quite busy the last weeks. Do you have a F-car again? Are you driving the FF? I have just completed our tour program for 2017 and will post it here in a couple of minutes. Would be great if you could join us on one (or more) of our tours! Markus
The Ferrari Drivers club now has 18 members since its foundation a bit more than one year back. I have just completed our tour program for 2017 if anybody wants to join us on one of our tours or if anybody wants to join our club. Markus Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Swiss Ferrari enthusiasts, Just found this tread and would like to introduce myself: My name is Hans, I live in the Zuerich Area and I own a '92 512 TR for a good three years now. Love the car - it sits besides a Porsche 996 GT2 and an optimized 993 C2 Coupé - the 512 might not have the efficiency of the P. cars but holds its own unrivalled in the 'Emotion' sector. For this year I will schedule an engine out service and am thinking about some things to include in the process. Such as: - delete the pre-cats - replace standard cats with metal cats - choose an aftermarket exhaust for a more sporty exhaust note (nothing too extreme) - check on the transmission weak points such as the diff My questions at hand are: Can I delete the pre-cats and still pass the bi-yearly 'Abgaswartung'? Which aftermarket exhausts could I use that comply with Swiss laws? It would be great to hear from other Swiss TR owners who have done similar things. Thanks for your help - and enjoy your great cars. Best - Hans Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Welcome Hans. Lovely 512 you have. And a GT2 niiice I can't answer your questions, but I'm sure one of the other here can. What does your mechanic say?
Hi Hans I also have a 1992 512 TR. I cannot answer your questions but I would go to Erlengarage (Ferrari-Werkstatt in Romanshorn im Thurgau: Autogarage) of Karl Tobler. Many of us let our cars be serviced there. I am sure he will be able to answer your questions. I had my car there this winter for the engine out service. Plus he sent alle the sticky parts to StickyNoMore. They look like (or better than) new! See some pics below. Did you see our tour program in my post #1442? Would be great if you and your 512 TR would join us on one of our tours. The next one is very soon, taking place April, 2nd. Feel free to shoot me a PM (in German or English language) if I can help any further. Hello Simon and Markus, Thanks for your posts - Indeed I have not decided yet where to have the engine out service performed and the hint from Markus is most welcome. So far I have only done yearly maintenance at a Maserati/Ferrrari Shop where I live. Schwarzwald on 02.04. sounds like a great idea. I'll see what I can do and get back to you, Markus. Hans Btw: There is a company in Grenchen CGAG ? Carrosserie Grenchen AG that does the 'sticky no more' treatment as well - I have been told they do an outstanding job. If you choose them you don't have to sent the parts to the U.S.
Hans I dont know this company in Grenchen. Not sure if they can do it in the same quality as StickyNoMore. There had been some discussions on F-Chat (in general, not about this company in Grenchen) and I also talked to a guy who is interested in some licensing form a company such as StickyNoMore. He told me that the task is quite difficult to do. One part is to get all the letters, numbers and marks back. I brought my 512 TR this winter to Karl from Erlengarage to perform the engine out service. Thats the best time because then Karl usually sends sticky parts from several cars to StickyNoMore. You dont have to deal with that yourself. He does it all for you. The official Ferrari dealers are very expensive for our cars (TR). Before you should decide to give your car to an official dealer ask them for a quote. The price I got from Karl is very reasonable and I have the impression that he is doing mor belt services on TR as all the official dealers together (what might not be true but sometimes it looks like that ). Would be great if you join us on April, 2nd. Just let me know. Markus
I just had a look at the website of the company in Grenchen. The pics look good. But the prices are quite high IMHO. The whole interior for my 512 TR was about CHF 1 000. A friends 348 was around CHF 1 800 (this car has more parts). The website of the company in Grenchen says CHF 1 900 for just some parts and CHF 3 300 for the full package. So I prefer sending the parts to the U.S. Maybe I will do my 575M next winter after having done my 512 TR the past winter. Markus
