I posted these in a different thread sometime ago, but have recently scanned the negatives rather than the photographs and they have come out better. Car was cut by Emilio Garcia's E.G. Autokraft and engine rebuilt by Modena Engineering in 1981. My notes say the speedo was zeroed at this time too. First picture at Goodwood in 1981, second outside Maranellos, Thorpe, Egham in 1987, following major accident repair by Swallow Racing. Surely this should be a new thread: Pictures of Ferraris with someone, in the background, who looks like someone famous/infamous but who is not actually anyone famous/infamous (apologies to the Mr McGuiness lookalike!). There could be separate categories for international politicians, royalty, Blue Peter presenters, Spice Girls, Bond girls, Carry On stars and American Presidents. I offer a bottle of port to anyone who can post one with a Kim Jong-un or Charles Hawtrey (the man who was Private Widdle) lookalike in the background (see small print). Robert. Small print: Bottle of port (possibly from Lidl (if indeed they sell port)) will be presented in person (or left of the roof of his car) to the winner of this competition at FOC(UK) concours 2017 (whenever and wherever this event may be)(in anticipation of the inevitable requests for information about the event on this forum from persons who have yet to register here). An inferior product may be substituted (if one can be found). If the winner of this competition is not in attendance at the above mentioned event the promoter will pour the contents of the bottle into the nearest drain (or river (not too far away from the event and who would notice some more pollution anyway?)), unless the promoter has substituted a product of significantly superior quality whereby the promoter will return the bottle (and the contents) to the promoter's home address). The contents will subsequently be consumed by the promoter. If the event is cancelled: no prize. Tough. There is no guarentee that the promoter will be at the above mentioned event (although he hopes to be). In the event that the promoter is not able to attend the event there will be no prize giving. An alternative prize (i.e. cheaper) may be substituted (if the promoter can find one). Submissions to this competition can be made electronically to this forum. Evidence will be required to support any winning entry. Only 35mm slides or 6"x4" photographs (with accompanying negative) will be accepted as evidence. No Photoshopping, although this could be highly amusing. Once again, an alternative (cheaper) prize may be offered. The judges decision is final: no looky-likey, no prizey. In the event that the North Korean government and/or the estate of Charles Hawtrey (the man who was Private Widdle) take offence to this competition they will be awarded the bottle of (cheap) port in order to save the promoter from death by AA gun. If both these parties object to this competition then each will receive one half of the bottle of (cheap) port. If the estate of Charles Hawtrey (the man who was Private Widdle) is the sole objector it is considered that death by AA gun is unlikely. However, the promoter will be advised on this. If the estate of Charles Hawtrey (the man who was Privite Widdle) is the sole objector, then the estate of Charles Hawtrey (the man who was Private Widdle) will receive the whole bottle of (cheap) port. If the North Koreans SERIOUSLY object then the promoter is unlikely to be able to post any more photographs. Or post anything. Ever.
Have you run this passed the FOC? I am not sure their insurance will cover this, and they might have to add even more small print!
That 288 GTO used to be in Switzerland before, it has the mandatory Swiss motorway sticker (Vignette) on the lower left corner of the windscreen. Marcel Massini
Freddy Starr parked his boxer outside our lab at Thames TV when I used to work there a long time ago. No photos though.

I brought it back in Jan 2017 and sold to a new owner in February 2017. Delivering it on Tuesday! One of my favourite F40s out there...
Let's have some of those wonderful old DK photos from Twitter cross-posted to here, James! #40yearsofDK -Ed
Yes please! The one of Ron Fry's LM and Mini on a Bedford transporter is fantastic. Are there more like that? Robert
