    Nice car. Hope it sells.

For everyone's information: eBay's terms of service states that vehicle and real estate auctions are not binding on either party. I've bought and sold numerous cars on eBay without issue, but it's not surprising that there are a lot of flakey bidders. Sellers have zero recourse against non-paying buyers.

    They didnt.
This was further discussed in the F355 market thread. Apparently winning bidder said they didn't expect $70.05k to be the winning bid and backed out....

like i posted earlier... i see it over and over on no reserve auctions.

is there a scam angle here or are people that bored and have nothing better to do than bid cars up ?

what it does do is killing bidding next go around...

    This is so much BS!
Why are you even bidding on a car if you have no interest in buying it??
I know why.. to bid the car up. Bull****! People need to stay off EBay if they don't have any money.

Even worse is "reserve probing" when someone bids up to find out your reserve, then retract their bids once they know your threshold.

A dealer on here did it to my eBay ad when I was selling my Mondial.

It messes with everyone's perception of your car and is complete BS

So did it sell to any of the other bidders?

I was interested, but once the price went through the roof I stopped watching and moved on.

    Same here..

As far as was discussed in the other thread, not to other bidders.

There was a member here asking about another car. People were diverting him to this one, so not sure wether they ended up closing in on a deal or not

What's your definition of "price went through the roof" for this car?

How is it possible to retract a bid on EBay?
I thought all bids were final

    No sale.

I have asked the winning bidder ( F-Chat member ) to step up and disclose his screw up.

HINT: Do NOT trust gated 612 drivers :)

Have you tried to contact any of the other bidder's on your car, and has FLEAbay done anything about the deadbeat bidder?

The car quickly escalated from 40s to the 60s. I like 355s, but don't view them or 328s as being worth more or near the price point of getting a nice 360 which is in the 50-60 range.

So when such a car or similar car (328/348) is near the strike price of a 360 it's too high IMO.

Where are you finding good 360s for 50 to 60. The top bid for this 355 was reasonable, even low. Recently a car in much more need sold for 65k. And I'm one who thinks the 355 market is over heated. But 70 for a nice 355 needing a major isn't far from the mark currently. Bidder should be band on consideration of ignorance. ;)

They are all over the place. I hope you don't pay or really consider ask prices as buy prices. There have been two 360s I've passed on in past 4mos with <12kmi one at 62 and the other at 65. Red/blk and red/tan respectively.

But what kind of condition? I've seen some really beat low mileage cars. The miles are a very small part of the equation.

The 2000 red/blk needed work (door handles, fobs, major), the 02 was clean and ready to go. The clean one started at 89, went to 70, and stopped 64900. Later heard from the owner it sold for less.

Best place to sell a car these days is on BAT (bringatrailer.com). Ebay is definitely not what it used to be
