17k track miles on my GT3, 120k street miles on my 993 and 10k on my GTS Cab. Love my 911s for sure. Durable as heck, fun and cheap to maintain. That being said, my newly-acquired Scud is redonculous--an event every time I drive it. Pretty and fast. AND, now I can't stop looking at 308s and 355s. I would have to sell a 911--or two! So my question is, when does this sickness subside?

Only when you run out of garage space. Even then, people get around that by adding space!

Isn't that the truth. Already have a lift in my garage and renting three other spots near my house. I think ultimately having fewer cars and driving each one more is more enjoyable. But, when you think about which one(s) you would sell--its nearly impossible.

First of all, thanks for all the comments. It's quite reassuring to hear positive things about the car.

Sorry for the slow replies. I was confused by the fact that my post didn't appear for a few days despite being a member for 7 years. I thought it hadn't gone through...

I contacted a local specialist but they will only perform the inspection at their shop and BMW will only allow an inspection on their site...

So I will try and find another specialist today.

I live in the mountains so a convertible doesn't really work for me. My last car was a Modena and I've never driven a spider. I admit they look beautiful.

I'll let you all know what happens re the inspection. If all goes well I will wrap up the car before the end of the week. The only big problem I have with the car is that they have no physical history with it; only what is on the Carfax. I'm from the UK and we take our car histories very seriously! A few years ago I would have walked away from a 10 year old Touareg if it didn't have a few inches of receipts!

    How times change...

Ok, I have the report back. There is 70% left on the clutch and the previous owner said he did it in 2015. He also said he did the belts then but there is no recorded history of that.
I suppose I would need to get them done immediately for peace of mind.
There is a problem with the passenger side door lock. Doesn't unlock from key and has to be opened from inside. The window also drops on opening on the passenger side but doesn't automatically go back up on close. Sounds like it could be related...
Otherwise, the F1 pump is fine but there is some seepage around the resevoir and feed hose. There are 3 leaks on the various power steering hoses.

Apart from that the specialist (Autohaus of Tucson) said the car seemed very clean, drove well and they would on balance recommend the purchase.

Any thoughts or should I just get on with it?

Also, I posted a message yesterday thanking everyone for their replies and thoughts but I was told it was going to be quarantined. Now they seem to be going through.

So, thanks for your comments everyone, I appreciate it.

I wouldn't buy a 360 without records. The market is too soft. 360's are famous for door opening problems. Run away from an F1 problem. I wouldn't buy any 360 right now unless it was at least visually perfect. Leaks? Forget it. Again the market is too soft. With the problems you've already listed I wouldn't offer a penny over 55K to 58K.

Well, the car is listed at 58k so it's priced accordingly. The lack of records bothers me a lot though but these things do tend to get lost when cars are traded into dealerships who don't know the cars.

It's a tough one to call...

Look around a bit more, I think you can find something in the low to mid 60s with similar mileage but full records. Just need a bit of patience. This one isn't priced bad but the lack of records will always hurt a bit.

Wow, car is still up and priced at $56.9K. That has to be the lowest price I've seen on any 360 with a clear title.

The tubi and challenge grill makes up for the lack of records on this.
But I buy a car, not a stack of receipts. I don't expect a ton of info about a car with 32k miles anyways. Aren't these supposed to be daily drive Able? How much service does your daily driver get in 32k miles? Just make sure the flux capacitor is recently charged with Italian unicorn dust, and you should be fine ;)

Priced very fairly IMO. If there's an appetite in the market for these cars, outside of this forum, it "shouldn't last long" -and I never use that expression. Esp. now that spring/summer is around the corner. Might even end up getting bought and flipped for 10 grand more by someone after they give it a service and detail.

Definitely a ton of car for the money. Someone could service it and enjoy it for a long time.

I guess that depends on what's been done service wise. If it's still a good deal when you factor in an extra 10k to address the belts and doors and niggles--then it might be a good buy. Sort of like buying a Cessna 340-421---a good price is only a good price if it's still a good price factoring in a chunky repair budget I suspect.

So, if a 360 doesn't have a belt change for 10 years, but it doesn't snap and then is serviced and replaced, is that OK? Or is there any other wear and tear to consider on the engine? Or does it make no difference?

There must be a good indie there in Tuscon that can change the belt and address the other things. They are quite robust cars and pretty easy to sort out..... from what I read. I never went a week or two between driving mine and serviced it on schedule.

It would be just fine belt-wise. However, if the oil or coolant also wasn't changed...

If you google the VIN you will see it was a government auction car...does it matter? No idea.

Well, I ended up buying it and it's being picked up tomorrow.

I'll have the belts / major service done immediately in Denver. Having a hard time picking between FoD or Maranello or Rampante. I got a quote for $4,800 from FoD for the major which I think is reasonable. I may just pick whichever service department has the best availability as they all seem to have good reputations on here.

Excited to be back in a Ferrari!
