    Hello all,

Yes this, 246, is one of the very, very best out there, certainly one of the top five in the world if not top three, it came to the first European gathering I organized in August 2010 near Zurich with help from another K owner friend from that city.
As original as it gets with the Bjaersch sticker still on the paint at rear, pristine interior and the best sound system: zero radio or stereo just the small original panel with the chrome word Maserati plugging the radio hole: with that engine sound who needs anything else?:)

So I am not involved at all with the sale of this one, don't even know exactly who owns it now but to prove yet again I am first and foremost an enthusiast I will write here that anyone out there with the means and the desire should not buy one of the two or three great cars I am offering but this exceptional one, as good as it gets.

Apart of the photos below there are a few photos of it in my book (and many more on a disc) taken for me by a photographer in the fields that day 7 years years ago in the Swiss hills, a perfect time with eight fine cars and two other of the best in the world:)

    Best regards,

    Marc

Yes I was told yesterday morning a couple of German brothers got it, a British friend of mine wanted it but they were already in Zurich...

    Dear all,

Update: we are doing very well in terms of entries, no problem however there are an an awful lot of fence sitters, i.e. people hesitating and if you understand how much work organizing such an event is please appreciate that we, my publisher and I cannot rely on "Maybe I will come if my car is ready" statements: that is the wrong approach and if it was used in F1 racing there would no cars on the grid at 2pm on sunday and no one in the grandstands.

Instead to give a bit of motivation I would say don't be a wall flower but a decisive Pilota Maserati!

Choose which package suits your desires needs and budget and just register for the event which can be done online on my publisher's website, eaurougepublishing dot com then get your car serviced and ready, push your mechanics to have it ready with plenty of time to spare, keep a sharp eye on them and any delays -very often poor parts management ordering and follow up eats far too much time- there are more than three months left so plenty of time, tell them you have an event late May not late June to give yourself a safety cushion and voila!!!

Hesitating endlessly does not do anyone any good so just go for it: be motivated, we will have a fabulous summer time event with great cars and a wonderful group of people, including MM Cozza and Collina of Maserati Classiche.
We are not doing this event for profit at all anyone who understands such events and their logistics will confirm that, packages cover a broad range of options and prices, we are doing it for the cause so that these cars get actually driven and enjoyed as opposed to just sitting or constantly being tinkered on or just concoursed.

After all you bought it to drive, to create special memories and we have the key ingredient, the best roads in Europe here, traffic free (a distant memory in much of Europe now) and all the other ingredients which will make it just as memorable as our unanimously praised KHAMSIN QUARANTA event five years ago.

So please do not let us down, those of you who have not decided please make up your minds and send me an email then you can register securely on the eaurouge publishing website.

Again we encourage you to come with your wife or lady friend, the event is not a technician's gathering to talk about camshafts (though many genuine yet unpretentious experts attend) but an art de vivre grand tourisme event though without snobbery and has been specifically created to be enjoyable for Ladies as well as men. You can of course come with a friend too.

If you need to have your car delivered before the event or leave it afterwards secure dry storage in a brand new facility is available 30 minutes away from the host hotel.

    Any questions just email me:

    marc [at] marcsonneryservices.com

Many thanks and see you in Burgundy June!:)

    Hello AMLC,

Coincidentally I received an email from the owner this morning the car is being worked on in Italy, runs beautifully and even the horn is in rude health as I saw in a short static video:).
Meanwhile he is getting the papers sorted out.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    That's nice to hear Marc.

He stuck his neck out and it looks like that is paying off. That places him in a select group of very few who made good purchases at that particular auction.

    Best,
    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

Yes a smart one in a sea of over excited totally unprepared rubberneckers who overpaid and then felt serious Monday morning buyer's remorse. Something like 80% of bidders at that auction had never done so before and behaved like Dodo birds at a cliff's edge.

In contrast he had prepared smartly making sure Interpol Italy and Germany did not have a red flag on the car once we had determined its identity with RM Sothebys.
Then he was lucky that the auctioneers handlers did (very) slight damage to the back of the car while unloading it which finished scaring off those already concerned by the dodgy title...but he could not believe he was the winner and for such a low price.

Seems like a very nice guy I look forward to meeting him.

To remain on topic (before people start talking of that auction again) I was told by Fabio Collina of Maserati Classiche which the orange cars were, apart of 0018 which I sold in December to Berlin and will go back to that color in a year or two.

No cars have been orange in decades.

There were four: 0018 with black interior now blue for decades, used as demo/press car by Thepenier French importer before being sold to its first owner Vannucci 25 November 75.
154 sold new in France by Thepenier as well to Mr Tissier 29 October 75, white interior.
156 as mentioned recently initially unsold at factory as a 5 speed, tan interior, converted to automatic before it left the factory (a unique case AFAIK) sold to Mr Kantor (father of Philip) in London (yes he wanted a LHD even though he lived there).
301 was the last of the four and also the very first RHD car, I saw it at Heathmans a sports car dealer in Putney, London, back when I was 18 in 1982 (next to a 5000GT Allemano they started for me) it was red and was decades later in the small junkyard behind McGraths north of London, has since been junked so 2 or 3 of the 4 remain, 156 is in Belgium also red, and I have zero news on 154 since it was sold new...

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hi AMLC

    Great find!
Low Kilometers and one owner commands a special price, which it is !
Only one external photo seems to be of the actual car.
    Dealer is selling it.

Wonderful yet another to emegre from the woodwork, completely unknown to me:)

Yes as Vignalespyder pointed out most of the photos are not of this car but of 160 and even other model's interiors, I will contact the dealer this coming week to find out more. I am actually headed to Italy, it seems, quite soon so maybe time for a visit.

Beyond this one case not only has it been clear for years that many keep their K's for a very long time but the pattern of cars emerging out of the woodwork when owners pass away or become too old to drive is becoming ever stronger, at least a couple of them emerge every year on either side of the pond so I am more and more optimistic about just how numerous other cars sitting out there might be...

I can't recall if I mentioned here 356 the gold car (oro Longchamps/black that had been sold new directly from the factory to the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, that had vanished for decades but was found recently...in a barn south of Paris? Here is a photo.

The funny thing is I was once years ago contacted by the son of the first owner who was very nostalgic of the car and those years, then I met a chap from that island friend of another K owner who said he used to see a gold one there as a kid...and bingo I met at Retromobile this very passionate K enthusiast who said he had found the car in a barn south of Paris along with 2 or 3 other cars such as Merak and Espada...but the cars are now gone and we are trying to track them...then 2 weeks a go a friend from another part of France calls me and mentions that car...then no more news...trying to find out more now, I would really like him to get the car...

More in the next episode if and when news comes.

    Best regards,

    Marc

Jean is always there when there is a bargain:)

Funny because he is one of two who wanted a very early light blue car which in fact was not for sale...so he got this one but for inventory.

    Hello Vienna:)

Fond memories of summer 2015, danke again!

This car has been on ebay last year best bid was US$90k. It was offered in previous years once more as well...but the market for automatics is much more active now than it used to be so let's see...
