New PU's were not an evolutionary change. Honda did not have anything to copy (and attempt to improve upon).

wow that was shocking... The one guy was walking on his side and he just ran him wide... He didn't give those people any space. I am certain that other dude was at lease on the same height with his shoe, if not slightly ahead.

On a serious note, I guess every second of it he was so pissed of with himself that his jet is in for repairs to get the dents out of the roof from someone sitting on it...

Yeah, quite a contrast. Both videos are the same length, Hamilton running the entire time and Vettel signing autographs the entire time.

And still one of them will tell the press after the next race how blessed he is and that he does it all for the fans...

Not his jet ;). He claims it is but doesn't belong to him or his company, or anything like that.

Mercedes AMG and Red Bull's now normal suspension may slow them down a tad.

I think we saw the Mercedes chassis/instability problems reflect this in testing

More collisions now with the wider cars?? More freedom it seems in terms of braking....

FIA drops 'Max Verstappen rule' covering Formula 1 braking zones - F1 - Autosport

The FIA has dropped the 'Max Verstappen rule' governing Formula 1 driver conduct in braking zones as part of its bid to allow greater freedom on-track in 2017.

Late last season the FIA clarified the rules regarding drivers battling wheel-to-wheel, in response to complaints about the way Verstappen in particular moved under braking to defend his position on occasions.

Those changes resulted in Sebastian Vettel being penalised for the way he defended against Daniel Ricciardo in the Mexican Grand Prix, but over the winter the FIA made clear it wanted to give drivers more freedom to race each other.

"Some of the incidents that we saw last year may be handled slightly differently, simply because the so-called 'Verstappen rule' has gone," said F1 race director Charlie Whiting ahead of the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.

"Before, we said any move under braking will be investigated.

"Now we have a simple rule which says effectively that if a driver moves erratically or goes unnecessarily slowly or behaves in a manner that could endanger another driver, then he will be investigated.

"So there's a very broad rule now.

Renault brings 'big fix' for F1 engine problem to Australian GP

Renault brings 'big fix' for F1 engine problem to Australian GP - F1 - Autosport

Renault has brought a "big fix" to the Australian Grand Prix in a bid to cure the problem with its Formula 1 engine that hindered its pre-season testing.

The French manufacturer suffered an MGU-K problem that compromised its works team and customer outfits Red Bull and Toro Rosso over the two weeks at Barcelona.

It related to the insulation on the MGU-K unit in the ERS, for which Renault has introduced an all-new design this year as part of a major overhaul of the entire engine.

Renault had already identified the problem during dyno testing but had to wait before it could implement the solution, which its driver Jolyon Palmer said has made it to Melbourne.

"Yeah, I'm very confident," he told Autosport. "They've made some big changes.

"It was a problem discovered on the dyno with the MGU-K and it was just worse than they expected.

"That's a big fix for here."
