The 488 GTB was also unveiled at Geneva but Ferrari seems to be more away from production with the 812S - since the first 488 in France were delivered late September / early October I would expect around November / December for the 812S.

Maybe if we continue to bash our heads with 100's of photos of the car, we will all learn to love it's appearance. :D Performance is not the issue...clearly stunning in that regard.

    🤣

Looking at the first pictures of the 812 bottom as was also not impressed compared to the F12's, but when I saw the car personally in Geneva it started absolutely to make sense. The 812 looks more muscular and bad ass, where as the questionable ass of it starts to suit the overall appearance of the beast IMHO.
At the Geneva Motor Show I also fell in love with Grigio Opaco Caldo. Even though my current Lusso is in Rosso Maranello I would go for this matte grey look with the 812 as it shaves all the details of the car's lines out.

I like Matt paints but in the UK they are seen as very showy and perhaps favoured by the middle eastern community.

Who am I kidding you're right lol at least to me it does the TDF a bit. I didn't like that one too much for some reason. The F12 Berlinetta is just too beautiful especially in the right color.

Likewise except possibly with TDF wheels. Do you know which red this car is?

So I went to the show room in Monte Carlo and spent some time with the car. The more I see it the more I like it. "In the flesh", any issues regarding the rear IMO are not a concern. The new Rosso 70th Anni is AMAZING and seems to change colour in different light conditions. In the showroom the one side of the car was "ruby red" and the side facing the street (natural light) was brilliant and almost looked "wet". The paint appears very 'thick and rich" in look and texture.

I tried to ascertain if any parts that looked 'aluminium" were in fact plastic and other than the air vents (which I am not 100% sure), all other parts seems metal.

I really do like the Sport Seats and they suit the car very well. The particular car had no CF and to me it was very elegant and very sporty at the same time. I also do like the new rims. I will probably end up spec'ing the car 99% identical to the car in Monte Carlo.

Will try upload a few pics in a while.

Thanks !! That car is stunning to look at... I want to see it in white and gray though... I'm not a huge fan of Red, but with the lines of the 812, that car is simply stunning to look at in red as well.

The car looks superb and the spec is pretty basic - just an exceptional (and pricey) paint choice, racing seats and wheels. The rest looks pretty standard. So the car could look great without £100k of options.

Correct. I am trying for ZERO CF as just over it. When you see the alumnium, black and red it works VERY well. One will still need quite a few options and the sport seats and paint and wheels wont come cheap. I think £50k (in your world) will have u in a very nice car

I don't know if Ferrari realise that the beauty and novelty of shiny carbon is over yet-it represents too easy money. Personally, I think they need to start innovating again and come up with some new materials for the dash etc.

I still love the matt in the tdf, looks fantastic, but it suits that very sporty, slightly hard edged environment. A GT needs something else and I too would like other options as I know would others considering their 812's.

Remember those leaked factory pictures of the yellow 812 with the dark black rims?

Where is that car? I assumed it must be a press/show car.

Or are customer cars already being delivered?
