Agree with both. I have seen both the Levante and the Bentley on the road - ugly, particular the Bentley. The Range Rover sport is a great looking SUV, and I also like the new Alfa Stelvio. Though, Land Rover and Range Rover are my favorites as they are capable off-road, and we use them for that. Can't wait for the new Defender :)

Try a Levante off road, it will stay with a Range Rover. On road not even close the Range Rover is a pig. The only thing that will stay with a levante on a back road is maybe a Porsche.

Best looking SUV is the new Velar.

Problem with the Levante is the wheel-stance ratio as with most other Ferrari-Maserati wheels.

The car needs at minimum 21 inch wheels and a spacer kit.

Sorry, but no... not talking gravel road, but mud, water, ascend, descend, wheel articulation, etc. Does it even have hi/lo, locking diff(s)...?

I dont think any suv come with locking diffs anymore. Maybe old school g wagon. Not even range Rover. All done with electronics now. Works pretty well too

The online configurator doesn't offer this option. I guess this is offered as no-cost in the sport black pack.

Drove the Levante diesel last week.

    Positives:

Most impressed with the handling, for a car this heavy it really handles well and neutral. The diesel by the way is about 100 kg's heavier than the two available gasonline engines.

The combination of standard air suspension (multiple ride heights), a 50:50 weight distribution, rear wheel bias and a sport lsd on the rear diff. means it corners nicely. The steering rack is nice and quick too, Alfa Romeo quick. The combination is a pleasant mix of handling and comfort, albeit for those who like things on the handling side. For those seeking the ultimate in comfort; a Range Rover probably does a better job. Maybe out of necessity but also like the fact Maserati offers just one suspension setup, no base or optional adjustable suspensions or sport diffs (see Porsche).

The diesel engine suits the car, obviously it's not blisterly quick nor is the torque band very broad but the 600 NM of torque available combined with the smooth and quick 8 forward ZF gears (with paddles) means it has enough punch and adjustability. Fitting to an SUV.

Like the looks of the car as well, like many cars these days it looks better in person than on pics.

The leather is nice and soft too. The extended leather (leather dash) is a must have IMO. Interior space is more than enough for 4 to 5 adults.

    Downsides:

    - Diesel clatter, didn't expect this much noise inside from a modern V6 diesel, the sport setting doesn't make it any better or sportier.
    - Some of the interior trim pieces are not up to rival standards (mainly steering wheel/electric seat/dash buttons), although it didn't really bother me.
    - No surprise but the nav system/screen can't match the German competition, but it does the job.

Just took Delivery on Levente....white/ curio .....Awesome car...we have 3000 miles on it so far with no problems....my wife, who didn't get excited about whether it had sport mode or not.....Now, all she drives in is sport mode and LOVES to make the exhaust sound off....so funny.

She traded a 2014 Porsche Cayenne and says the Levente is 10 times the car the porsche was.....I don't know about 10 times, but it is a better Ride, Sound and LOOK .....I think Maserati hit it out of the ball park with this SUV .....giving Jaguar, Porsche and Range Rover a run for their money.....The only downside is, You have to Hunt them out, no dealer in our town...

We Did Add "Maserati" logo under the side vents....it needed that....got chrome logos on eBay.
