If you have a Garmin but not the map of the country you want to visit, you can download an "Open Street Map" from here Free worldwide Garmin maps from OpenStreetMap and copy it to a SD-card (read your manual). Worked very good for us when we went to Martinique. There are no Garmin maps for this island. The map of Germany is also very good.

Hertz wanted $100 a week for the GPS...at that point it's cheaper for me to buy one.

Yes, I rented $100 GPS with rental car in Italy and It didn't work very well. It was some not well known rental car co.

Cool! See you there, escorting a client and his wife on their first tour the same day.

I picked up a Alfa Romeo Giula for $21 a day at Hertz, should be nice to try it out.

I had zero problems with my Verizon iPhone 6 between Milano and Maranello. Google maps was all I needed plus cash for gas and tolls.

The Hertz 'alwayslost' is the single worst navigation device I have ever used.

Why wait for the museum shuttle? It's like a 15 min drive and there's plenty of parking at both places?

We named ours "NeverFound" when we rented one in Sicily. It literally never knew where it was, which was something I had very much in common with it. That was a few years ago for us though. Are they still horrible?

Ferrari Museum in Maranello has a large parking lot reserved for tour buses and on some days car clubs. Parking is available across the street pay per time and limited residential.

MEF has plenty of free parking.

You can drive to the MEF.

Damn talk about a hard job haha! I'll contact you closer to the date but yeah see you there.

I'm thinking of renting a Lancia Ypsilon; when I lived in Europe after college I drove one for a brief time (borrowed from a friend) and I have an emotional attachment to the model now. And I like Lancias even though this car isn't really a Lancia.

We stay regularly at a farmhouse, well olive grove farm in Umbria in a small town called Montecchio. About 40 miles South of Perugia.

Last year we stayed in Maranello for a couple of days and drove down to the farm. It's an easy drive and about 4 hours or so.
