I would appreciate any recommendations for an independent Ferrari mechanic. Bonus points for any in the Western suburbs.

    Thanks,

Giovanni D'Avola at Autosprint. He did the PPI on my 308, wound up holding my hand through some DIY restoration that I undertook in my garage, and then rebuilt my motor and some other peripherals. He got his start as a race mechanic for Fiat, and is one of the most respected Italian master mechanics this side of the Mississippi, to say nothing of his unquestioned honesty and fair prices.

Make sure you flatbed your car to Autosprint. The roads around there are full of potholes (big enough to throw in a small dog). Also, prices seem to be a bit on the higher side...about 2yrs ago they wanted 1k for a brake pad change, labor only.
