I agree with the bolded text. Just a rookie-related racing incident that will likely not be repeated. It was bad luck that it put him out of the race altogether.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

In 2016 Perez would have been penalised for that move, but nowadays everyone can get away with a lot more.Stroll was unlucky,i think he will be right up there with Massa very soon ,maybe even in Bahrain.

So you think he will be the second to last car running? High praise indeed.

He'll be right up with a driver forced to come out of retirement and drive as a charity gesture? What a scalp that would be!

I am glad they treat that as what it is, a racing incident. Perez could as well have ended his own race with that attack.

    Lol

I was thinking more in terms of qualifying in the top 10,Massa had a below average race ...to say the least.Ok the Williams is not exactly known for being good in changing conditions but Massa is the reference for Stroll right now.

True. But that's not a particularly high bar.

Stroll should be regularly and convincingly beating Massa (who is clearly not the driver he once was) by mid season at the latest.

I am pretty damned impressed with Stroll so far. He is proving that he is there because he has talent, and not necessarily his father's bank account. I hope he goes far in the sport.

As a fellow Canadian, it would be nice to see one win a WC.

To be honest, we are far from that !

It's early yet, but I don't see Stroll as being WCC material.

    I may be wrong...

    No, I am not.

The kid looked very good in qualifying - showed a ton of potential. Do you disagree?

Many guys were fast over 1 lap. Means nothing in regards to race craft which he seems to lack.

Wanna talk about a young talent and future WDC: look at Max but not Stroll

Potential yes. I think he has some. His problem is the other teenager on the grid that is skewing perceptions about what is possible. Stroll has a lot of work to do and frankly is better on in Sauber than Williams for development. He is not ready.

Not ready ? are you joking? I like the way he gets off the line at the start, give him a couple more races to settle in and build some confidence again.

The other teenager on the grid is not only skewing our perception of his peers, but also of Formula 1 as such.

With all respect I have for Max (what he showed us again last Sunday was just phenomenal), but he makes Formula 1 seem easy. Too easy, perhaps...

Andreas, he (kizdan) is Canadian so is understandably dreaming.

And yes Max is just getting better and better. Simply amazing!

In the words of Clarkson when he was talking with Brawn about Schumacher ''Frankly, he made the rest of the field look like Monkeys''. Verstappen has done the same type stuff a few times now. Lets hope for a few more wet races soon...

Ricciardo is his hugely capable teammate (I've rate him very high, well before Max arrived or was even in F1), who by his own admittance stepped his game up when Max arrived. Max's real strength is in the race, on the brakes. It's a joy to watch him.

As Psk says, Max is only getting stronger. If and when that Red Bull gets within .5 of the Mercedes/Ferrari pace later this season or otherwise next year, beware...

Obviously a possibility but I think Ham will veto him...he's already veto'd Alonso.

    ;)
