It's a recreation with Ferrari chassis and engine, according to the poster they travel with.

Not surprisingly Best of Show (the fabulous Enzo Ferrari Trophy) at Wednesday's Ferrari Club of America National Concours was awarded to Peter Kalikow's spectacular Ferrari 212 Export Cabriolet Vignale Chassis #0110 E, beautifully restored to the highest level by Ferrari restoration expert David Carte of Classic and Sport Auto Refinishing, Inc., in Edinburg, VA/USA. Congratulations David, very well done!

These early Vignale bodied Ferraris offer so many interesting details to look at, pure Art Déco style sometimes, and each car is different from the next, all hand built with superb individual pieces, real jewellery.

Who received the other big awards?

As for Vignale, they did some absolutely spectacular work through the years. Sometimes they went a bit off the rails, but when they got them right they were perfect. Makes one wonder what would have happened if Ferrari had not become exclusive (virtually) with Pinin Farina.

No, not at all. He was there, he was a member and his car sat there. It is a Ferrari. Everyone knew it was a rebody, no one was fooled and it was not some dastardly scheme. He was as entitled to be there as anyone else. The car is ineligible for judging in the show, not attending.

Don't know why it was such a big deal. There was a fake comp Daytona too. BFD.

A few pix from the concours. The weather was awesome for the concours, unlike the previous day's monsoon.

I believe the grey PF coupe in the first picture is similar to the one used to create the GTO previously discussed. It is in the Early Preservation Class. The F40s/F50s were the Supercar Class. The row of 360s were, surprise, the 360 Class (with my 360 first in the row :) ). There were at least 3 Ferrari V8 powered prototypes, unfortunately I only have pictures of this one. The other 2 were open cockpit, one an Argo and I believe the other was a Radical (not sure on that one).

Thank you very much for the nice photos.

Your photo #1 shows 1747 GT, a great 250 GT Coupé Pinin Farina, owned by an fchatter and FCA judge.

We parked our C7 Stingray one space away from this Ferrari last Friday evening in the parking lot of our hotel while in town for the Celebration show. Also talked to the lady who was with the gentleman who owned the 250 GTO recreation when we arrived at the hotel to check in. She was fiddling around their 458 Italia while her husband was inside. I spoke with her and (noting the track number on the side of the 458) asked how the track day went. She replied it was wonderful, but unfortunately she damaged the front fender during the event.

We saw both of them with their 250 GTO on display at Celebration on Saturday.

Here are a couple of pics I took at the hotel (it was still sitting outside uncovered with windows open later that night, so I assume it sat overnight there):

We won't see what again? An FCA annual meet or Finali Mondali at Daytona?

My Better Half and I had a wonderful time at the FCA 2017 event. We would like to extend a big "THANK YOU' to all that were involved. It was our first big event and we won Platinum!
The first pic Tuesday afternoon taking our 360 CS off the truck.
The second pic is drying her off.
The third pic is staging for the concours.
    The fourth is the judging.
The fifth is just out of winners circle.
The sixth is just our car next to AWESOMENESS (<--- it is a word! My 10 y/o says, "if you can say it. It is a word!")

The youtube is a short video of My Better Half taking a victory lap.

Once owned by Phil Baumgarten or Preston Henn? I remember seeing it in Fort Lauderdale about 30 years ago...

    No. Never.

May 1970 sold by Pininfarina to 1st owner in Milan.
1978 to Japan, where it stayed 25 years until 10 July 2003. Then to France.
    14 August 2010 to current U.S. owner.

OK, thanks for the correction, Marcel. Now, where the heck did I see it? It wasn't Milan or Japan, for sure.
