I will be very interested as well. This wasn't done to increase power as much as increase reliability and add refinement. It should produce about 400-410 hp at the wheels, but not likely more. (By the way, I have had a really hard time finding dyno sheets on TR's.)

That shop loves what they do. Beautiful work.

I can't wait for you to get the car back --and I can't wait to hear it.

    Hi Gordon,
Nice work, thanks for sharing. I love the white headers and pre-cat bypass pipes. would you mind telling who made them?

They really do love their work. The company is Panthera Racing in New Jersey and the owner has a special affinity for TR's.

They make it themselves and probably would sell it without them having to install it.

The owner, Paul Summers, is an engineer and likes mil spec things.

One of the reasons I went to this guy was that they were known to do these aircraft/milspec fuse panels. Here's the video where I found these guys. Just him driving a TR and talking. A lot.

Thanks, Romano. (I bought the car 4 months ago and haven't seen it in the flesh, yet.)

And, he had some nicer pedals made that are like the 355 challenge cars. I think I am going to powder coat these semi gloss black. Maybe not.

I have a question for the old hands with TR's. I would guess that the 512TR ring and pinion could be swapped in to my TR, but wonder if there is an even shorter gear available? With, perhaps 25% more power and a higher rev limit, I don't need the top speed possible. I'd be happy cutting that down to, say, 170. Does someone know of higher gears than the 512TR's 3.45?

Thanks, Romano. I'm new to modifying these and had never thought about that. I will ask the fellow who has done the engine work if he can source those. He probably would also know whether the ring gear I was looking for would be available.

only a ring gear ( crown wheel ) makes no sense, you need a complete crown-pinion set because the numbers of teeth has to match to each others. you can not just use a crown with for example 3 teeth more, this will never match then to the pinion and if you try you wil get crazy because of the loud noises.
also both have to be manufactured on the same machine.

to make gears is a science for itself, and here you need also a diversion of 90 °

I understand. I picked up a 3.45 over the weekend. Still on the hunt for something higher.

Some had the ring gear and pinion reproduced in the past. I'm sure you can find a manufacturer to make a gear set but will be very expensive. I think Romano's solution would be much easier. I hope you also plan on replacing the diff case. I'm not sure but I think Newman who also sell the better diff case know where to get new ring gear set made. I think he had some made in the past but my memory has suffered a lot in the last year.

Romano he mean different ratio like 3.75 or 3.90 for quicker accelaration. He said he's ready to sacrifice top speed and have higher RPM.
