Great Ferrari victory! Strangely, he took responsibility for it on the podium. New mindset and tone from Hamilton? All the best, Andrew.
The rules are clear - You cannot hinder another driver once in the pitlane, and Hamilton definitely hindered Ricciardo. The fact that Ricciardo had a better stop is irrelevant! The penalty was deserved!
Bottas was not quick enough at any point in the race. The field was bunched up behind him in the lead the first part of the race and then he let Seb get away after his pit stop. I thought he would perform better...being an efficient driver is mot enough. One must be aggressive to battle with the top guys.
I have to say it's amazing how much better this season is than last. They are talking to each other. Have a bit of personality. Even HAM is much more tolerable. So far so good.
Awesome stuff. Great great drive Seb. Excellent strategy from the team. Seb, mi piace anche la machina This is now 2 awesomely exciting races - here and China, plus Australia was a pretty good race as well. Some really excellent defending and passing again. These new cars are really proving to be a great move for F1.
"sparkling" Rose water (with not much sparkle!) From what I gather, it doesn't taste that good either!
Mercedes' compressor for Bottas' car failed on the grid and his tyre pressures were far too high for his first stint, so he had no pace from the start. After that, something with his car set up was causing him to cook the rear tyres, whatever compound he had on the car so he had no real pace.
''Lost'' 3 seconds to Bottas on the SC lap despite being half a second behind him earlier, then further slowed Ricci down even more (can't overtake on SC remember) just before the pitlane...clear cut. Brundle/Sky where all in agreement it was as clearcut a penalty as can be. Totally not on. -- Don't agree that the penalty ''helped'' Seb in any way...his undercut was what would've won him the race, he was already 3 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else. Verstappen followed and Mercs stayed out...The SC helped Mercedes a lot and Vettel would've been far ahead, with Verstappen in tow! Getting by Verstappen is hard in any case, so Merc very lucky he had a brake failure.
Ferrari confirm electrical issue for Kimi, finished only 2 seconds down on Bottas despite horrendous strategy.
Both Kimi and Bottas were fighting issues with their cars that they could do little about - You can't really judge either driver's performance on today's race, they both did well to finish as well as they did.
Sux for Max. I wonder if the KERS unit and the brake by wire software are conflicting with one another as he lost all rear wheel braking????...This has been on ongoing problem with other cars as well.....HAAS had this issue last year.
Apparently a tweet from Stoffel Vandoorne showed him on a treadmill during the race today with a comment that said: "Went for a run - What did you guys do today?"
the podium ceremony reminded me of former schumie days of glory...gents, this is our season!!! 2 out of 3! #forzaferrari
The German National Anthem followed by the Italian Anthem just sounds right somehow, doesn't it! - It brings back some fabulous memories! FORZA FERRARI! - FORZA SEBASTIAN! - FORZA SCHUMACHER!
