Not sure what the distinction you feel there is between more practical and more usable. All these cars should be highly reliable if looked after. In terms of practicality I would rate them

    1. 288 GTO (by some margin)
    2. F50 (Defiantly the next most usable and practical, I leave mine for many months and always starts first time, easy to drive, not quiet as small and nimble as the 288, which also has great visibility and mirrors)
    3. F40
    4. Enzo (If you drive it all the time maybe you perfect a smooth gear change but not great to drive occasionally or park)

    (Never driven the LaFerrari)

FYI. Something is definitely moving on the F50 value front. I was just offered 1.6 million GBP for my 6300 miles mint example. Another dealer who I'm talking to about upgrading my F40 (to a particular car of excellent provenance) told me not to sell. He believes mint Euro F50s are going to continue heading north. I'm clearly biased; hoping from his lips to God's ears. Good to see the F50 firmly entering the limelight :)

Maybe a coincidence but I was similarly approached for mine two weeks ago with an somewhat off-the-charts bid. Apparently there is a price insensitive ME buyer here in the UK doing the rounds.

It should be worth more than the Enzo. Until then, it's undervalued.

You're preaching to the converted, but I hadn't thought of it quite like that, and you're damn right.

Fewer made, much sweeter drive, definitely more unique in its construction. Even the look (roof on IMO) is gaining rapid ground as the years peel away. And I have the Enzo's engine in my GTO so hardly special there ;)

You're spot on. (although the GTO drivetrain in the Enzo would be perfect).

Veering off topic slightly, using the same logic, I consider the Porsche Carrera GT to be undervalued as well - it **should** be worth about the same as the F40 (minus a small deduction for having the "wrong" badge.) - production numbers, place in history, sheer quality of driving experience and icon status are broadly similar just 25 years apart and one's a Porsche. I tell ya, I missed out badly a few years ago - could have picked up the car for a song but didn't have the dinero. Now i do.. and it's all crazy money.

Will be interesting to see F50 values once you can start importing Euro cars to the USA without restriction. I've been told once the car is 25 years old + then homologation etc isn't an issue and the car can be driven and imported. And the Americans are paying $3m for them! (circa £2.35m)

I have to agree with you on the practicality of driving the 288 and F50 but I think the ENZO is a bit easier to drive daily than the F40. The LaF fits in somewhere between the F50 and Enzo. IMO

The last 3 Tipo USA F50s I've sold (all very nice cars, one a 1-owner car) late last year/this year have all been $2.5m give or take FWIW.

What is market for a euro f50 then? 2m euros? For a very nice one? Or still around 1.6-1.8m?

Around 2m Euros are the highest bids I've seen so far for the best/mint cars

With the weak Euro, a US buyer would be smart to buy a low mileage Euro F50 and park it in his garage for 4 years.

He could not park it in his garage, but it could stay in a bonded warehouse somewhere. Probably best to keep it in the UK so you could still do an annual service at a minimum.

The premium for the US spec cars is due to their actual rarity, but is only a US specific desirability I believe, and even when ROW cars could enter the states, then US buys will still pay a premium for A US spec car as a result, so I doubt it will cause a significant rise in ROW spec prices purely due to that factor alone.

Case in point, a person in the US with a US spec F50 will always still be regarded higher up in the pecking order by those surrounding them at the "look at me" events, which will always bolster that premium.

Car guys at a cars and coffee event would not give a damn if you had a pair of F50s with different specs side by side, but its not those people that create such premiums.

I dont see a rush of ROW F40s into the states raising their values elsewhere yet as a result, I know the numbers produced were far higher, but people generally still prefer the F40 over the F50 which would counter that greater rarity to a degree.

The reverse could in theory of course happen. US enthusiasts are still shackled by having to pay a premium for an F50 if they want to drive it in the US. Once they have access to ROW cars the pool of US buyers forced to pay a premium could reduce, actually softening the premium as a result.

:) only an outsider looking in, if my crystal ball was that clear then I would own a fleet of them by now, not just admire them from afar.

Here's one for sale locally to me.

    1995 Ferrari F50 For Sale ZFFTG46A0S0104220

I have no affiliation to the seller/dealership, they're just a local dealership around my way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at $3.6M I think they're asking way too much.

Hopefully I'll be able to see it in person at some point this week.

That's the car that sold at RM Amelia Island a month ago for $2.64... I mean, it has been over a month, a million dollar increase is surely reasonable.

I was thinking the same thing, plus $3.6m is such an awkward number, why not simply round it up to $4m?
