yep rear electronic brakes failed, only front hydraulics worked. As it was happening Paul Di Resta was calling it immediately.

sorry that I annoy you with having caught you out on just Bashing stroll for the fun of it. My bad, I will make a note to not point out again if an argument of yours isn't exactly correct.

Whatever. The news reporter even make a point of being surprised that Hamilton ran at the tests today because he usually develops a severe headache or other issues when it comes to in season testing. That is how much he doesn't even value testing with current cars AND current tyres.
Forget about anyone giving much about valuing running outdated cars and irrelevant tyres.

Because Elton is arrogant and has tons of self belief that he doesn't need it.

hehe... ok, I can't argue much against that.

But then look at the rest of the pack. All teams run reserve drivers and youngsters at those tests. If track time with current cars would be something of utmost significance then they'd be much more eager to spend more time in the cockpits. But they don't. Especially the likes of Ferrari or Mercedes do not exaclty need to develop talent as they could purchase it. They could invest the track time into their lead drivers. Yet, they don't.

That track time of testing seems to be much more valuable to the team to develop and test stuff than it seems to be for the drivers and their development.

Hamilton is playing catch up. He now realises he's got a real fight on his hand for the WDC and he needs to up his game as he's not just competing against Bottas. He has big time under estimated how good Ferrari are. Might already be too late for him...

    LOL!

I am bashing Stroll's camp's decision to rush him to F1 - I've been transparent about that. But I also hope he turns it around, because I want to see the best competition in F1. Furthermore, what I've said from the beginning is that he has been given every advantage dating back to F3 and even F4, so there is no blaming the environment, just the timing.

    This is funny though:

So there is no benefit at all...just so people like me and Bas can "spit venom". Because...this is serious stuff obviously.

    Followed by:

So if you are going to critique arguments, you might want to form a coherent one yourself.

    Agree

Ferrari's wins were down partly to unusual circumstances. It will be close but I think MB will prevail

Depends on the driver, car, team, rules, conditions, etc.

Kimi never enjoyed or got much out of testing either, even when he was the best driver in the world. There is not a one size fits all for testing.

But throughout his career, Stroll has had more seat time at every level of Fx than any of his competition. That's simply a fact. When they got to F1, they couldn't test non-stop on the current car, so they did the next best thing.

You see it at every level of racing. When the series controls testing, the guys with money figure out other ways to gain any advantage. In the case of Stroll in F3, he had his own custom F3 simulator at Williams as just one example. No one else had anything similar.

You mean being faster than MB? Granted, that is unusual these past few years, but how about a little credit to the hard-working folks in the old country?

    Copy. Thanks!

It's always hard to judge on replays because brake failures often look like driver errors.

Absolutely. Only his fourth race and just out of the points. Nine behind him. Yes, congratulations indeed. :Shake:

I only wished I came from $$$ when I made my feeble attempt to reach my dream as a pro-driver. It takes a bunch of the green so I have no resentment like some. ;)

Unforced error and spins, still finished well behind his teammate who had a puncture and extra stop.

The guy spun behind the safety car and people want to congratulate him for a good race?

For a rookie, 4th race, half way up the field? That is not low.

Stroll finished less than 20 sec behind Massa.
Hamilton finished 36 sec behind Bottas.

Once Hamilton is sacked we can talk about what development potential Stroll has. Mind you, this was his first full race.

Didn't Massa have to perform an extra stop for a slow puncture? In any case the two Williams cost Vettel the win by not letting him by when lapped and both suck!

I didn't see Massa hold Vettel up. I'll watch it again. 'Nothing to do with Stroll's decent run, anyhow.

yes he did, so 25-28 seconds lost in pit time alone there. Was also close to the end of the race, some 12 laps remaining I think. Tires didn't drop off much here either so couldn't really claw back much from whatever he lost.

Stroll spinning on his own accord. Panicked when Hulk was alongside him and just spun.
