So for some reason my made in 1991 Canadian spec 348 has the later 3.8 bar FRPs that from my reading are NLA This dude had the same problem and the same solution http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/406370-348-adjustable-fuel-pressure-regulators.html I am going to go with this FPR Aeromotive Universal Bypass Regulators 13129 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing It's a return style, so can I just cap the return port? Will that work? And according to the other post the fitting sizes are m14x1.5 and m16x1.5 Which XRP makes a 6an adapter for you can see here AN Metric Adapters | ANplumbing.com Before I order something else that won't work is there anything wrong you can see here ?
Echlin makes a 3.8bar fpr. Here is my thread on upgrading my 348 to the Echlin/Napa fpr. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q-sponsored-algar-ferrari/457779-348-fuel-pressure-regulator-upgrade.html Before you order MAKE SURE you have the threaded fitting, and NOT the barbed fitting. BOTH ends need to be threaded on your original.
ah sweet!! I looked at your post last night but i thought it was the push on style fitting http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Fuel-Pressure-Regulator/_/R-CRB219624_0429815082 There it is going to call the local NAPA this morning, fingers crossed!
nobdy has anything in cananda! Anyhwere i can order online? I also found your other cross refrence list and i cant get any of these either! AIRTEX: 5G1127 ACDelco: 2173329 Bosch: 0280160738 BWD: 22863 CarQuest: PR298 Ferrari: 147281 GP Sorensen: 800410 Kemparts: 143865 Niehoff: 22863 Standard motor Products: PR289 Wells: PR440
They didn't have it at the store I ordered mine from and had to order them from the national wear house. Why can't your local store have the fpr's shipped to them? It only took 4 days for my store to get them.
Matter of fact I just got off the phone with my local Napa store and they told me the wearhouse in Virginia is showing they have 5 of them.
Not sure why they cant get them from the US, but i called 3 local stores and they all told me the smae thing, on back order with no ETA I called a buffalo store, and they said the same thing as you. They can get 2 from Virginia, but i have to come in and pay so they can order, i cant pay with a CC over the phone. DOH I called a local performance store and they have two Aeromotive ones in stock and all the fittings i need. Except it will cost me $360 plus tax and whatever fittings i need, i might just do that so i can drive the car before the salt and snow come. Still better than the local ferrari dealer who wanted $500 a pop
That's insane! Napa has the Echlins on sale for $64.80 each right now. $500 a pop for a fpr, what a RIP OFF!
Yup! And he told me to only run Ferrari parts, otherise i could have ECU issues and it wont run right lol
thanks, i think i might just go with the aftermarket stuff. If i can get eveything i need locally tommorow i am set. Might cost me an extra $100 or so VS going with Summit for the parts. I am leaning this way as well just because of how hard it has been to find an OEM style one, at least in the future i can just rebuild the Areomotive if it starts to leak.
just incase anyone searches the same info Standard Motor Products PR298 is the correct part number PR289 is a Dodge part, totally different.
Has anyone ordered the 3.8bar PR298 recently? I'm having such a hard time finding this part in Canada. The only US shop I see that has them is Summit Racing but they're out of stock. Anyone can help?!
SoCal1 used the adjustable regulators from Aeromotive. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144805245-post432.html
Do a search for "Standard PR298" using DuckDuckGo. If you're using Google it's filtering a ton of results because they want to get paid for everything they show you. Good luck. Hope you find them.
Most online seller's website say "out of stock" and point back to the manufacturer. For example: 1993 - FERRARI - MONDIAL - V8-3405 3.4L DOHC STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Long Island City, NY 718-392-0200 Here's PR298 on Standard's eCatalog: eCatalog
One PR161 left at Amazon @ $60.19 https://www.amazon.com/Standard-Motor-Products-PR161-Regulator/dp/B000C7ZSM6 Summit lists the same @ $71.97 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/smp-pr161/overview/ Rock Auto has it for $66.79 http://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearch/?partnum=PR161 http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=47004&jsn=8
PR161 is the wrong one, mine is threaded on both ends! Thanks for the leads, will check them once I get home.
