Had he not made those mistakes the motor issue in Sepang would not have been as devastating. It was those mistakes, errors that cost him. If things are good dont give points and wins away needlessly. LH last year was the perfect case for such a scenario coming true. He did it all by himself. Again this year he is adamant about preparation and training unlike last year with the world tours saving large cats etc. Do the job or go home. This year he is now applying himself as he should have to begin with from what Ive heard and read. Problem is a fast team mate and a faster Ferrari
How do you know? You never tried to be the reasonable opinion or do you think you were banneed for being reasonable??? Obvious??? Not really... That is exactly one of the differences between him and Schumacher...Does anybody think Michael would have concentrated on anything else than winning the next race? That is not a given...First of all people tend to forget that Rosberg was turned in the beginning of that race by Vettel taking away all chances to win by himself. So on a normal race weekend with Hamilton winning this in front of Rosberg the stand in the WDC would have been Rosberg 291, Hamilton 290 points...Rosberg would have still had the chance to win the title just as he won the very next GP... I doubt that if he did not have the points advantage he would have simply tried to get home second in the next 4 races as he did. So taking the result of the last race and simply add 25 points to Hamiltons points is way to simple and far from reality. Fact is: Hamilton had his fair share in loosing the WDC to Rosberg and it is not only down to reliability. I do not get how people constantly moan how unfair fchat is for not acknowledging the achievements of Hamilton while talking down those of Rosberg at the very same time. He is WDC against Hamilton so the Hamilton fans should get over that. PS: I forgot to mention Monaco...if Rosberg did what Lewis normally did (blocking his team mate because he was racing for the WDC) then you can take away some more points of Lewis and it becomes even more uncertain that Lewis would have won without the engine failure.
Bad reliability? You should see how Kimi lost the 2005 championship to Alonso..his damn car even lost mirrors and other bits when he was on track..that thing was a time-bomb....however, by the end of the year everyone aknowledge Kimi as the best driver of teh season...i didn't see that happen in 2016....(except of course by Andrew davies in Planet f.1 You have doubts about Massa? Well, except for last year when he was clearly demotivated, he was always a match to valteri..and we know Valteri can beat Elton...so by your own logic.....
I agree, this is suposed to be a bashing thread..can't understand why some people are trying to defend him!!!! to me this is derailing..shouldn't be alowed!!
Now THAT is hilarious! That actually looks like an Elton John suit that has been taken in just a bit!
Haha, i think even John would blush if he was to were such a thing....and i'm sure those shades will be pretty handy at night!!!
I personally think that anyone saying Hamilton is better than Schumacher should be permanently banned. Again, it's a FERRARI forum. Not Mercedes. Not stupid drivers who diagnose their cars by saying highly intelligent things like "I'm feeling sensations." Not drivers who think they're rappers. There are a million places on the Internet where people can dwell in an alternate reality where Hamilton is God. This isn't it.
Whether it's a Ferrari forum or not shouldn't influence the debate if Elton is the best or not. What does influence the debate is him being beaten more often than he should if he is such a GOAT...Personally I rank Schumacher the highest out of all of them, but even if some others differ from opinion, I think all educated ranks put him (schumacher) in the top 3. Elton has never really dominated his teammates in the fashion that was expected of him. He didn't dominate Button, he didn't dominate Rosberg, and already doesn't seem to be dominating Bottas either. Season is young still, but Bottas looks like he's establishing himself rather quickly. IMO Hamilton is among that group of ''quicker than most'' drivers, but not an elite, not an ''alien'', to steal a term from MotoGP.
No, but it does influence which team and drivers are more likely to be the favorites. That's just common sense. No one would come onto this forum, banging a drum for Hamilton, unless he was only looking to cause trouble. And unless he was an idiot. Because...reality.
Saying Hamilton lost last year because of "bad luck" is the same as saying he won the years before because of "good luck". The season is 17 or 18 races long. You throw out the good and and bad and what you are left with is did the guy win or lose enough to be champion. If it's just luck then why do we even race? Just roll some dice 18 times and proclaim "a winner". A great saying in Baseball is "no matter what you do, you're going to win 50 games and you're going to lose 50 games. It's what you do with the other 50 that matter if you're a champion or in the cellar."
